Groupwise inc, anyone here heard of them ?

They are supposed to help get rid of your unwanted timeshare.They say they will buy it from you. Is this just another scam ? no upfront fee...... so they say. we are going to meet with them tomorrow and will report back here.

I guarantee they will ask you for money . NEVER pay anyone money upfront that claims they can get you out of your contract !!!! They will set the hook right before they ask you for money claiming it's for some kind of " fee " that has to be paid upfront . It's a SCAM !!!!!

If you do a search, you will probably find a thread about this company. From what I recall, there was little to nothing positive to say about them.

From this meeting you are describing, it sounds like the typical one. They lure you in with the promise to buy your timeshare. When they see what you have, they will tell you that it is worth zero (or less) on the resale market, which it probably is. Then they will tell you to pay them some money to get rid of it for you.

This will likely be a high-pressure, fast-talking sales pitch about how impossible it will be to get rid of it in the future and how your kids will be stomping on your grave after they are forced to inherit this headache, etc. They will probably tell you that if you don't act now with their offer, it will be harder and more expensive down the road to get rid of your timeshare while you continue to pay constantly increasing maintenance fees and special assessments that come at the most inopportune time.

If you are dead set on getting rid of your unit, then first of all, try asking the resort if it will take your unit back. A number of timeshare companies are now taking units back from owners if the mortgage is paid off and the maintenance fees are up to date such as Wyndham and Diamond.
