Timeshare interest/referral for preview offer in Hawaii

Good evening,

My wife and I are interested in learning more about timeshares in general and we are interested in the larger chains (Vistana, Marriott, Hilton, Wyndham). I looked at the timeshare rentals on a couple of websites for a weeks stay, but I believe getting a direct 'preview' offer from the companies may be a cheaper way to check them out (please advise if I am wrong).

A number of years ago I was targeted for the Starwood properties on a 5 or 7 night promotional offer for Hawaii, but could not take advantage of the offer at the time. I called to see if I could get another offer directly, but they said the easiest way would be via owner referrals.

Is anyone willing to do this for a couple interested in visiting Hawaii (Kauai)? Our second choice would likely be the Big Island.
