Need help getting rid of my parents Westgate Timeshare
My parents have a 4 bedroom timeshare at Westgate Town Center. We had it listed for sale on redweek for 6 months with no interest. At this point, we just want to give it away. What is the best approach? During the third time Westgate talked by parents into adding to their timeshare, they also encouraged them to add my sister and I as owners. We have no interest in the timeshare and want off the deed, along with getting my parents out of timeshare ownership. My father has Parkinson’s and they can’t travel anymore. They do not owe anything for the timeshare, just bi-annual maintenance fee.

Westgate wanted you on the deed so they have a cash cow forever . I would contact Westgate and ask about giving back the timeshare through any program they might have . They probably will want some money from you to give the a chance to find another victim .

Westgate has a program called the "Legacy Program" where owners who have reached the end of their timesharing life can give their timeshare back to Westgate - for a fee. The Legacy Program number is 800-351-0461. The fact that you and your sister were added to the deed might complicate things, but if your parents tell Westgate that there is no way they will pay anything more than the "exit fee," they may be able to strike a deal.

The week is floating, but I don’t know if it would have enough “trading power” to get you into Westgate Park City in the winter- if that’s what you were thinking.
Good news!! We changed the price on my parents timeshare and got an offer from someone to take it!! I put the title company on hold to take my sister and I off the deed, since a new buyer will take us all off. Hope everything goes through- this will be a huge relief to my parents. Thank you everyone for you guidance!!
