Points thru Marriott vs purchasing legacy week thru resale

We are interested in purchasing a 2BR/2BA at the Marriott Surf Club in Aruba. Trying to decide between a resale legacy week during Gold season or new points thru MVC. A lot of conflicting issues about deeds/RTU, etc

1-I was told by someone who just purchased points at MVC Surf Club, Aruba, that they paid $11.10 per point, 3075 points. 5000 point bonus. Enough for an OV/OS week during Gold season. Is there wiggle room on this pricing?

2-This is deeded for 99 years. Is this possible? Most posts say that its RTU until 2061. Most 2BR resales are going for 1/3 of that price, but it could be 39 years on the legacy vs 99 years on the points. That's a big difference.

Any advice or insights are welcome. Thanks in advance.
