Owners pay timeshare maintenance fees on full weeks. You can ask to rent just a few days of their advertised full week, but the answer might very well be (as mine certainly would be) "This is a 7 days rental. You can choose to use only 3 nights of the 7 day rental if you wish, but the full week rental price remains exactly the same".

It can't hurt to ask, but don't plan on being successful. Many owners are satisfied with just "breaking even" on their maintenance fees when they rent out their week(s), but none are interested in unnecessarily losing money by renting out only a portion of the full week on which they have to pay maintenance fees.
