Any owners at Hanalei Bay Resort? Considering buying a week
Hi, and thanks in advance for those that answer.
I'm considering the purchase of a week at the resort. Possibly either one of the one bedroom or two bedroom units. I'm curious about other owners and their experiences. If you are an owner there, how hard is it to get the week you seek there? Our intent would be to stay and not exchange.
We already have a week at Marriott Waiohai and a week at Marriott Kauai Beach club on Kauai. So far we've always stayed there and haven't traded yet. The intent would be to add a week and we'd need to coordinate the two visits. My wife works for a school, so we have to go between the middle of June to the first week of August, pretty high demand times. Booking two weeks lets us grab the units 13 months with the Marriott properties and so far, we've always been able to get the exact week we choose as I'm on the phone within an hour of the window opening.
Is this similar with HBR? Are people able to nail down the exact week? What's the timeline look like for booking in advance? Any other comments as owners?
How are the weeks structured? With our current resort, they're structured as Fri-Fri, Sat-Sat or Sun-Sun, our choice. Is HBR the same?

I am sorry that I can't answer your question but I have a question for you, I am considering a 2BR @ Marriott Waiohai and would like to know what you think of it. Are the rooms spacious? Do you cook when you stay there? How is the beach there? aAre there decent eating places close by? I usually stay at the Westin Princeville and always have a good relaxing time in Kauai.

I absolutely love it. They're big but by comparison the Westin Princeville is bigger. So far we've mostly cooked but will be less as we only have one kid left at home. The kitchen is spacious. My only complaint is the knife quality, we pack a set of knives.
The resort is right on the beach and there is only a slight drop. It is a public beach next to the state park so it does attract crowds. I've never had an issue, but some have had complaints about people partying in the park.
