Renting time share not protected and verified

Has anyone ever rented a time share off of redweek that wasn’t protected and verified? I see a listing I’m interested in but it’s not protected and verified…..It’s less money than those that are P & V, Could it be a scam? Thank you for any input!

I currently am waiting for a final confirmation from a listing where the owner was not protected and verified but accepted credit card which protects me. however, it is going on the 11th day with no final confirmation from the owner. so I am starting to believe the owner does not indeed own the week he is leasing. SO irritating. My vacation plans are hanging in the balance. I am not sure if Owner Verified even matters on proving the owner is legit and not renting an rci week.

I would NEVER even take the risk of renting if a credit card was not method of pmt. just my two cents. I will never rent again from a person who is not verified and protected.
