Is Redweek a better option then VacationShare?

May 30, 2025

I got talked into buying more Worldmark credits with the intention of covering some of my maintenance fees by renting out but I have learned that VacationShare is not all cracked up to what was presented, and has some shady business practices plus they want 40% of my profit plus it costs me a housekeeping and room tax.

Is Redweek a better alternative? Can some of you share your successes and recommendations for this newby?

A few questions I have: * Do I have to rent out a whole week or can I rent out high demand weekends? * I see the cost of doing business on Redweek but who sets the price if I rent out? * Is it safe?

Thanks, Joe

Did you ever get any guidance on your question? I'm in the same boat with buying more worldmark credits.

I’m not a big renter, but from what I’ve seen, most WorldMark owners use RedWeek for full weeks since those get the most interest. You can rent weekends if they’re high-demand, but they don’t always move as fast.

You set your own price, and RedWeek just shows comparable listings to help you gauge the market.

As for safety, it’s generally straightforward, just keep all communication and payments on the site and make sure guest details match what you submit to WorldMark.

Hope that helps a bit while you’re getting started.
