When did the success fee go up from $99 to 5% of the rental amount

This is ridiculous, a pure money grab. Maybe you shouldn't charge a listing fee upfront, if you are going to charge 5% of $4,600 for an upscale resort (which is $230 success fee).

I am very unhappy at paying listing fees and now this. When did this change?

Naturally, promoting a $1,500-per-night rental posting requires a greater investment than a $75-per-night rental posting. The vast difference in posting prices no longer supports a one-size-fits-all success fee pricing model. In fact, lower-priced rental postings have been subsidizing higher-priced ones. Our updated success fee structure addresses this imbalance, resulting in lower success fees for many postings and more equitable success fees for other rental postings. We remain committed to being the safest, most secure marketplace and delivering the best possible rental experience for timeshare owners.

You did not answer "WHEN" this significant pricing change occurred. When was it imposed? Was it announced or just "slipped in"? I was not aware of the change and could not find anything that referenced a "success fee" other than the replacement of $99.00 to 5% of the rental fee during the listing process. I don't believe it had been changed when I posted. Owners need to be advised as the cost you charge to handle properties as it impacts the rental price set on the property!

I posted my listing and it showed a service fee of about $150 when it gets rented. After I Post it the price went up another $350 for more service fee. This is a highway robbery.

I have read Redweek's answer to the "success fee" now being 5% and why in an above post. I am seeking to better understand exactly what Redweek's marketing strategy does to promote a $1,500/night rental vs a $750/night rental. It is my understanding, that prospective renters look on the Redweek site to select which rental they believe meets their needs. What does Redweek do in addition to having the rental information on their website that support the now 5% success fee. I look forward to your answer. Thank you.

I was not notified of this change, and I consider it a bait and switch.

Nothing has changed in how my listing is marketed — yet tenants are now being charged an additional $600 while I continue to pay the same $99 listing fee. The pricing is also misleading to prospective renters: both of my Christmas weeks are listed at $6,500/week ($929/night), yet the final price shown to tenants is $7,100 — because RedWeek has added a $600 surcharge that raises the effective nightly rate to $1,014. My listing still displays $929/night, which is what I set. Tenants see something different at checkout.

This fee structure was not part of my original listing agreement. I believe RedWeek has violated its own terms, and I will be having my attorney send a formal letter accordingly.

Over the last few years Redweek has 1) Taken away the option of DIY rentals 2) Imposed a "success fee", originally $99, now 5% of the total for the rental 3) Added fees to the renter as well, so that when my rental shows up on their website it's at a higher price than I set.

All of this is just imposing increasingly high toll fees on the owner and the renter that have gone far above the inflation rate. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. As a long time customer listing rentals with you I'm sure I'm not alone. I will be looking for other ways to do business with more customer friendly sites.

I wonder if places will continue to rent through this website if prices continue to go up. I'm surprised that there has been no inquiries about our rental since we posted months ago and now that I see that renters will be paying significantly more I'm starting to see clearer.

It wouldn't be advantageous for anyone if this all stops. It's not a smart buisness plan longterm.

What is RedWeek's solution to not being able to rent out timeshares successfully on a regular basis?

For perhaps 10 years I rented our timeshares through Redweek. With the changes in fees and freedom of access I have chosen not to rent the 15 timeshares I own using redweek. I find the new fee structure and even more the intrusive manner with which the company operates to make it undesirable to work with them. I have chosen MyResort Network and several others to continue renting because of the recent poor experience I have had with Redweek.

For perhaps 10 years I rented our timeshares through Redweek. With the changes in fees and freedom of access I have chosen not to rent the 15 timeshares I own using redweek. I find the new fee structure and even more the intrusive manner with which the company operates to make it undesirable to work with them. I have chosen MyResort Network and several others to continue renting because of the recent poor experience I have had with Redweek. PErhaps more important, I have told the owners at my properties to avoid Redweek if and when they can. Over time other sites will replace them--or at least I can hope so.

I am VERY disappointed in the new fee scale! I'm also a long-time owner who has listed several prime properties with you; and have noticed a DRAMATIC decrease in the rental success of my properties. Someone in this thread questioned the effect on successful rentals after Redweek's success rate increase: dramatic drop EVEN when I lower the price significantly.

While I doubt you will really consider or react to their owner's unhappiness over this change, I would think Redweek should do so; do it quickly before the coming exodus; and do it (along with any future fee-based adjustments) PUBLICALLY to your owners.

I will also now be looking for an alternate company to replace Redweek's renting service. Thanks to the individual who mentioned MyResort Network; I'll start there.

I've also been disappointed with recent changes and built BookMyPoints (.com) to focus on helping points based timeshare owners for free! Currently focused on MVC since that's what I have. Open to adding other points systems if there's enough interest.

I just noticed this as well, along with the news at how much vig Redweek is taking above and beyond my asking price for the rental. I guess this is what a company does when it thinks it has a monopoly in the marketplace. Time to look for other companies. We only have ourselves to blame because we put all of our eggs into the Redweek basket. Time to start promoting other companies instead and bring back competition.

How is this legal that the fee they listed when I posted my rental is now different… and we were not notified? I would’ve pulled my rental. This is the last time I will be using their service.

Are sucessful rentals Before March 2026 being honored with the $99 price, the contract agreeded to before March, but paid out after March check in? I do not think a graded "success fee" in unjustified , BUT it we were not notified; very , very poor business practice. The renter fees are too high and should be adjusted down obviously because I can see way too mant rental posting not successful. I too will look elsewhere.

So it appears that all customer support people have been told to sing from the same hymn book. I emailed Redweek directly about the fee change and I got the EXACT same response as in post #2 from March 31.

I am sure it is just "cut copy paste" anytime someone questions the new fees in any forum or email. Try it for yourself if you have an active listing. Email them and see what you get back.

Redweek is doing nothing to promote more expensive listings. It is a money-grab, plain and simple. They have become the de facto place to rent. Ebay did the same thing to sellers, continually raising prices, even to the point of taking a commission on the SHIPPING fees. Sellers have nowhere else to go. They can whine and complain, but ebay is the marketplace. Redweek doing the same thing. The only question is did they do this too soon? I will try other marketplaces in the future to see if they yield good renters. But it is possible that for people looking for places to rent, this place has become their go-to, and if so we are screwed.
