Recently Interval International has called me (like a million times) asking if I want to deposit (right word?) with them to rent out. I am told that I would have to give my credit card information and pay for the 4 weeks rental amount ($400-$500 for each unit) = to something like $2300. They said they don't charge account unless they are able to rent the unit. If they are I am paid back the $2,300 PLUS a profit. They are telling me that I would get approximately $6,000 IN PROFIT. Is this legit or a scam?

I am new to this timeshare stuff and have never done anything but travel to my home resort. Any help / information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Whoever is calling you is not Interval International at all. It is a scammer of some sort. II does not do or offer ANY of the things you have described, so the calls are clearly and simply scammers of zero credibility. Don’t further interact with them at all — and for God’s sake don’t give them any credit card information.

There is an old saying that “a fool and his money are soon parted”. Don’t be a fool.
