Coral Sands Resort by Palmera Reviews & Ratings

We had a wonderful stay at Coral Sands Resort and would absolutely return. The location is one of the biggest highlights. It's just a short walk to Coligny Beach, as well as restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. The pool area is fantastic, especially the lazy river, which was a big hit with both kids and adults.

Excellent location, 10 minute walk to the beach, 5 minute walk to shopping, restaurants and activities. Beautiful pools, with a lazy river great for kids and kids at heart.

This is a membership in Palmera Vacation Club. This allows you to use a week at any of the Coral Resorts. You can also access RCI with Palmera points converting to RCI points. For many years we have enjoyed visiting Hilton Head and staying in various resorts in their group but the time has come to change directions and vacation in areas closer to home.

We enjoy family time with our adult children and small grandkids. We usually sit by the pool or enjoy nearby shopping, attractions, or spas. We have had pleasant stays during each visit.

Beautiful resort! Family oriented. Plenty to do and eat out. Everything you need is very close by. Staff is awesome.

I love the access to the Atlantic Ocean for swimming. The villas are clean, well appointed and excellently cared for.

We stayed here in April 2008. 4 adults and six children (ages 5-14) shared a 3 BR unit which we all felt was in nice condition and certainly large enough to handle all of us. They list this as a resort which was misleading to us as it gave us the impression that it was an enclosed property, which it is not. It is sandwiched among other HH condos. Security was always a concern because anyone can walk through the property.

Within a five-ten minute walk is shopping, mini-golf, the beach, and restaurants. There is a nice activity center which you can bike to (takes about five minutes). They are developing the property and it will probably be better in a few years. Pool definitely needs to be better--picture is misleading as it is much smaller. It was also dirty all week despite our calls to the management. No poolside bar or snacks which most "resorts" have either. Property seems better for adults and older teens.

Four couples shared two 3 bdrm units--the price was very reasonable. The location was within a block from the ocean and right behind the BiLo Food Store (both walking distance). The unit was layed out a little different. The master bedroom with a King bed also had a smaller bedroom (third bedroom with Queen bed) separated by a sliding door off of it. The master bathroom would then be shared by those people--accessible only through the bedroom. The second bedroom had a queen bed and sofa with a bathroom. The bathroom was accessible from the living room but also had a door that closed off the living room from the bedroom. The unit might work for a family with children but only works for two adult couples wanting a private bath. It was very nicely decorated and comfortable. Would come back again. Make sure you eat at Red Fish--best restaurant on island.

We stayed in a 3-BR unit in August, sleeps 10 with no problem. Good location, only a 10-15 minute walk to the beach and also there is free public parking on Pope Ave. minutes from the beach. Units are large. A little hard to find initially, as streets and buildings on HH are not marked well. Went to the welcome breakfast which was OK and with very little sales pressure. Only negative was the relatively small pool with no drink service, which to most people would not be a problem if they are into beach activities. The public beach next to the Holiday Inn was great.

EXCELLENT RESORT! PLENTY OF ROOM. DON'T FORGET YOUR LAPTOP - FREE ETHERNET CONNECTION! FULL KITCHEN AND WASHER/DRYER SAVED US LOTS OF $$. THE BEACH IS ABOUT A 7 TO 10 MINUTE WALK - ABOUT 4 BLOCKS. ON SITE BIKE RENTAL. NICE POOL. THE BBQ WAS GREAT TO GRILL ON.

ALSO, COMPLEMENTARY DISH SOAP, PAPER TOWELS AND PLENTY OF TOILET PAPER AND KLEENEX WAS A WELCOME SUPRISE UPON ARRIVAL.

A BIT TRICKY TO FIND BUT SO IS EVERYTHING ON HHI. HAVE FUN.

Everything a family could want is at this resort. From the ocean just steps away to the shopping, restaurants, trails, not to mention an awesome resort.

Beautiful place and walking distance to beach and shops and restaurants. Plenty of room with 3 bedrooms. Close to pool and tennis courts. Great golf deal with units that have sports package. Terrific weather. What a fantastic vacation.
