They also have an amazing museum-quality collection of art and artifacts from Asian and Pacific Island cultures. Bay Club guests can also book services at the spa, enjoy the hotel’s pools and water slides, or use paddle-boats and sport toys at the man-made salt water lagoon for an additional fee. The concierge can provide more information.
A rental car is recommended to fully enjoy all the island has to offer. The Bay Club is not on the beach, but two amazing white sand beaches are 15-20 minutes away: Mauna Kea and Hapuna. Fodors rates these beaches as 2 of the top 10 in the world. Both offer opportunities to snorkel, paddleboard and boogie board.
The concierge will help you arrange sunset sails, snorkeling, zip lining, whale watching (November-April), restaurant reservations and other activities. You may also wish to make a full-day trip to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (~3 hours away). Be sure not to miss the Hawaii Tropical Botanic Garden, a trip to the Mauna Kea observatory, a helicopter ride, or the sleepy little town of Hawi and a hike down to the black sand beach. There are 13 ecosystems on earth and 11 are present on the Big Island, so any day trip will take you through several. Enjoy!
