The quiet and cleanliness of this location compared to many/most other hotels and timeshare resorts in NOLA is everything. Streetcar out front ! Walk to Magazine Street and wander the incredible Garden District. The units are not large - kitchenette and very small bath. Bedroom is lovely; there is a living/dining space with convertible couch. Memorable rooftop view deck, + delightful courtyard area + a laundry room, workout room.

We had a great vacation in the garden district of New Orleans! Beautiful, safe setting with restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the resort. Pool, hot tub, and spa all deliciously relaxing. No need to rent a car, as the trolley to downtown (Canal Street) and the nearby French Quarter stops outside the Avenue Plaza front door. You can experience fabulous food, music, and sights (not to mention beignets) here in New Orleans!

When I go to NOLA, I always stay here. The staff has been there for years and knows my family when we walk thru the door. The hotel is clean and is not too far from downtown, but far enough away for peace and quiet.

Outstanding Location! You have the best of both worlds. It is ten minutes by streetcar to downtown and the French Quarter. Or, a lovely, ten-minute stroll to many excellent restaurants in the Garden District. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The property is clean and updated, and the pool and gym are clean and well maintained. We have stayed here a few times, and it is one of our favorites.

Wonderful resort in the Garden District of New Orleans, on the quieter and more pristine side of the city, near the business district. Just steps outside on St Charles Ave is a convenient trolly stop takes you to the French Quarter that runs 24 hrs a day. This resort is full service with an amazing kitchen, pool and terrific staff. We really enjoyed our stays here and have seen property improvements year to year. It's one of our favorite places to stay in New Orleans.

Loved The Hotel and The staff was friendly and very helpful! It was a change from staying on Bourbon Street and smelling puke when you walk outside in the mornings..There is a lot of convenient little eating areas for Breakfast and Dinner such as the Trolley Cafe and this Phenomenal Chinese restaurant called Ho-Shun just down the block! Your not that far from Bourbon street Or River walk however you do need to either drive or take the Trolley to that area cause it's definately not in walking distance.. Going back again for New Years and look forward to staying at this Place again.

We have stayed here by way of an exchange & found the room adequate & quiet. The valet parking is a real advantage if you drive there.

We avoided a timeshare presentation as we had been through that before via solicitation in the French Quarter. The sales pressure was so thick you could cut it with a knife. The sales people became so enraged when we declined purchasing that they even reneged on the van ride back to the Quarter.

Though the streetcar is out front, we found no attraction for the immediate neighborhood. Overall, our stay there was so so. We have exchanged in to New Orleans several times to many timeshare units. The French Quarter is always the focus of action. At the far corner, the Hotel de La Monnaie (II not RCI) has some free garage parking, helpful staff, but crappy rooms. We've stayed in others, but the consistent favorite for handiest location is the Quarter House.

Waivered between 4 and 5 stars, but could not think of anything I would change!

Everything is new. Staff the friendlist I have encountered at some 20+ time shares!

Stayed week before Mardis Gras, 2008 but plenty of action for me!

Easy access to Burbon Street via front door trolley, exact change of $1.25 required!

Several nice restaurants, Deli Grrocery store and Walgreens very close by!

    Great computer facilities!

Reasonable parking rates if you choose to rent a car!

Avenue Plaza is our favorite place to stay in New Orleans. Someone below commented on the small size of the pool, but it is larger than most other NO TS pools. Reasonable rates for valet parking with in/out privileges. Really friendly front desk & valet staff.

Hint: If you like king sized beds, then you must get a studio unit. The 1 BR units only have 1 queen sized bed in the small bedroom. But, then the unit only sleeps 2. Perfect for a couple, but if you need to sleep 4 then get a 1BR (sofa bed in LR) or request a 2 queen bed studio.

A more than adequate jumping off place to the French Quarter. Wonderful restaurants a few minutes walk &poorboys next door. Easy trolley ride to French Quarter or other areas. Quiet Garden District strolls, tours, riverboats, zoo, etc. . Recently renovated from flood and everything improved from our last visit prior to flood. Staff was great and the the swamp tour we took with a Cajun wildlife biologist was a kick! Very impressed with the congeniality of the people as we suffered car problems and a local garage spent a day working on our vehicle and barely charged us anything since we host LSU for college world series baseball alot. We felt safe walking around and the music is wonderful. Only place we know that you to get a margarita to go thru a drive up window!
