We have enjoyed vacationing at Mountainside Villas at Massanutten for 20 years. Lots of things to do for the family and plenty of space in the large townhouse. We enjoy the sauna and whirlpool, also the wildlife and pools. One pool if exclusive this mountainside guests. This is the one of largest units if not the largest in Massanutten. Visit the natural bridge and caverns near by, so much to do.

This is my home resort. Ive owned there for 43 years! We live nearby and go up on the special deals thru RCI and Thanksgiving or just a day at the Waterpark. My family loves it! Summers and Winters are great. The fresh air is exhilarating!

The mountain villas are the greatest, because you can take many family members and still have privacy. The atmosphere of the villas entice you to relax. Huge dining room. My granddaughter played on the loft, watched TV in her bedroom while we played games at the dining room table and my husband relaxed and watched sports in the living room. we split our vacation, went to Va beach first and then to the mountains. GREAT!

Massanutten Resort is located in the mountains of Virginia. Take the chairlift to the mountaintop for lovely views! Enjoy hiking, swimming or golf! See deer right outside your townhouse-style unit. Since this timeshare week always occurs near the end of July (July 22-29 in 2022), it is a good time for a family vacation. Nearby there is a water park, opportunities for canoeing and fishing on the Shenandoah River, some wineries, and some historical sites to visit. You can choose to have an active week, or simply relax and enjoy being in the mountains.

I cannot possibly think of a better place to for a couple families to go on vacation together. There is so much available to do (or not do!) at your leisure. (2) Golf Courses, Multiple Pools, A great indoor/outdoor waterpark, scenic chairlift rides, adventure park, mini golf, go karts, etc. Or just sit out on your deck watching golfers or nature depending on where you are at. What's great about Mountainside is that you don't have to deal with the crowds and hassle at the check in building at the main resort on the mountain, but you get all the perks that come with it. Mountainside feels like a second home to my family. It's not the Ritz, but you don't have to worry if your kids put their feet on the coffee table either. TONS of space, TONS of nature surrounding you.

Massanutten Mountainside Villas is a beautiful mountain resort with many amenities: an 18 hole PGA Champion golf course, LeClub sports complex with indoor pool, outdoor pool, tennis courts, and fishing in a local stream. Dining on site and a waterpark nearby. Skiing and snow sports in winter. The unit is a very spacious two-story condominium with a sauna, jacuzzi tub, fireplace, full kitchen, in unit laundry washer/dryer, upper and lower outside decks, and eight person occupancy. Near the cities of Elkton and Harrisonburg for other attractions and dining options. Membership in RCI is paid up through 2024.

The Mountianside villas are very spacous and are located near the golf, putt putt, go carts, ski lodge, tubing, pools, and tennis courts. The units have been updated with flat screen TV's and new applicances in the kitchens. We were able to sit on the back deck and have breakfast and could see deer come right up to the railing. My kids love this place. There is a water park on site that is awesome. During the summer it has an outside area with a wave pool, giant slide, water obsticle couse, and other stuff.

We will never forget this place. It was one of the best family vacations ever.

Just completed a week at the Mountainside Villas on a timeshare trade. These units may be the oldest but they are by far the largest units I have ever encountered. It is like being in a townhouse with 2 bedrooms and a sleep loft on the upper level and a huge second bath with sauna and jacuzzi tub on the lower level. the unit was tastefully decorated in the cozy, mountain theme. the kitchen and dining room was huge and there was a flat screen tV near the electric fireplace. Deer came right up to your back door. tons of activities at the resort and wonderful places to visit each day (Luray Caverns; Monticello; Cross Keys Vineyard , magnificient on the top of a hill nearby; lavendar farm with petting zoo; ziplines, etc. We are Marriott owners so our standards are high. Only negative on Mountainside villas is steep stairs to unit at top of the hill but you can drive up and park on the side to unload luggage. When we go back to Massanutten we will choose Mountainside Villas for the space and location as they are close to most resort amenitites.

This review has nothing to do with the Ski resort itself or the area, both of those and especially the ski resort employees deserve a 5 star rating. This review is concerned with the Mountainside Villas 7 day unit which we traded for. I just returned from a seven day stay in unit #81 and I can only say that it did not even begin to equal what I traded for at all.

The units are large but very old, probably built AND furnished in the late 1970s or early 1980s. The televisions and furnishings look like something I would expect to see in a Motel 6 from either of those time periods.

THERE IS NO WASHER OR DRYER IN THE "VILLA" You must drive down the mountain or drive back up to the check in office to use a pay per use laundry room.

And if that's not enough of a surprise for you wait until you see what happens when you cook on the stove. We went all week wondering why the whole place filled with smoke when we cooked, after about the third time this happened I looked in the cabinet above the microwave and found that there was NO VENT TO THE OUTSIDE! Yes that's right, our cooking smoke was being sucked up into the microwave intake and being blown right back into our faces.

When I brought this to the attention of the Villa Management, I was left with an installation sheet from "Maintenance" and a note stating that due to the age of the units, the method they chose to install the microwave and range was the "recirculating" or "ductless" method. I doubt they have ever experienced the "recirculating " method of exhausting cooking smoke in their own homes.

The bathrooms had been overlooked for some time. There was significant mildew in the showers and soap rings in the bathtubs although there was a serious looking woman riding around in a golf cart all day long looking like she was supervising someone doing something. However, I doubt that it was anything more than changing the sheets on the bed and replacing the towels.

Needless to say, I am very disappointed with these accommodations and the way they are being marketed as a close to even trade with other timeshares. In my opinion they should not be marketed at all until they are renovated.

We went the last week of May and the weather was beautiful- muggy & hot, then rain, then clear and cool, and more rain with thunderstorms at the end of the week. It was a great variety to enjoy all of the amenities. The lakes for fishing and the parks for small children were wonderful anytime. We chose the hottest day to do the grass slide, but it was still fun. Miniature golf is good. The multiple caverns are amazing as well as the Skyline Drive through the Shanendoah Forest. The kiddie pool was perfect for our small kids- we did not even bother with the water park since they are babies. There was enough to keep us busy for a month!

We have owned here since 1999. This is a great resort. The Summit is my favorite place to stay, but the spaciousness of these units is outstanding. Sitting on the back porch drinking coffee the deer will walk right up to you. Most of the mountainside villa units have a lot of steps so if you have a problem with that you may want to consider Woodstone or one of the other units. Some of the sales staff are very aggresive, so be forwarned. Overall though you can't beat this place for amenities. championship golf courses, 3 outdoor pools, 2 indoor pools, health clubs, spas, family movie nights, on-site entertainment, trout-stocked ponds, playgrounds, tennis & basketball courts, indoor racquetball courts & a gymnasium, horse back riding stables, 2 championship mini golf courses, mountain biking, skiing, snow tubing, games rooms with billiards, air hockey, pinball, go kart track, kayaking, white water rafting, a huge waterpark, several restaurants now and they are saying they are now going to build a Mall and another waterpark!!!!!. I still didn't get them all. Some amenities are a bit pricey but it is still a wonderful place.

We love Massanutten! Mountainside is owned by a sep company from the other Massanutten properties so check in is located within the property, not at the gate.

We have stayed at Massanutten 7 times, 3 at Mountainside. We love the size, it sleeps 8 instead of 6, is a townhouse open loft with an upper and lower deck. LOTS of room. Absolutely the largest kitchen of any timeshare we have seen. I should have so many cupboards at home! Even a Jenn-Air in the countertop. The only disadvantage is the lack of w/d. There are laundry facilities at the check in building though. I would still pick this for the space and ambiance.

Although some of the other properties onsite may be a little fancier, Mountainside has the rustic feel of the mountains we love.

We LOVE Masaanutten!!! We vacation at this resort at LEAST 2-3 times per year - and we're from Pennsylvania!

We stayed in the Mountainside Villas for the first time, during President's Week. These villas are HUGE with a townhouse-style floor plan. The unit that we were in was recently refurbished with new furniture and carpet.

If you haven't been to Massanutten yet - you're missing out on a special family vacation!

We stayed at Mountainside Villas in August of 2003 and loved the area and the size of the units but found the units themselves to be well worn and a bit shabby. The units are HUGE, and there is plenty of room for a family to spread out. I also heartily recommend the area. The Shenandoah Valley is beautiful! You definitely need a car, because without one, you will be restricted to the resort itself. It's a very quiet and peaceful resort, AND THE DEER! On one walk, my sister counted 52 deer in 20 minutes. Every day deer came right into our yard and munched our tree leaves. All in all, this is a great place for a family or for a family reunion. We had a total of four units, which the resort positioned side by side for us, and my whole extended family stayed for a week. I definitely recommend Massanutten but would like to see Mountainside Villas update and refurbish their units.

This is a beautiful resort. Plenty of activities for adults and children. The area offers a lot of Virginia history. The resort itself has sking and tubing in the winter, and swimming, fishing, golf in the summer. There is nothing like sking all day and coming home to your own private sauna! The mountainside units are spacious, and offer 2 private bedrooms upstairs as well as a loft. The kitchens are large. It feels like home- away-from-home.
