Worldmark's Pinetop resort is one of our
favorite drive-to vacations spots. From
Phoenix or Tucson, expect a 3.5 hour drive.
There are several grocery stores nearby
(Eddie's Country Store, Safeway and even a
Walmart) so we do all our shopping when we
get into town. The units are very well
maintained and always seem brand new. The
kitchen supplies are better than most
timeshare units we've stayed in. On our latest
vacation, we took a quick trip to nearby Fort
Apache and the Kinishba (spelling?) Ruins. In
addition to Charlie Clark's steakhouse, the
other great place is called the Christmas Tree
Restaurant which recently moved off of the
main street (ask the front desk for directions).
Right outside the condo's you'll find several
easy to moderate hiking trails, and within a
short drive you'll find lakes, snow skiing in
winter, golf and even a small bowling alley.
We spend every Christmas in Pinetop, and
typically try to get up there for a week in
summer to escape the Phoenix heat.
