Harbortown Point is a wonderfully located resort with friendly staff, a delicious onsite cafe, and very comfortable rooms with beautiful waterfront views. We've seen the best sunsets from the oceanside rooms and it's so fun to watch the boats and paddle boarders come and go along the channel from the patio.

The property is within a couple miles of a beautiful sandy beach and great harbor side shopping complex with wonderful restaurants and interesting stores. And downtown Ventura on Main Street is only a five minute drive where you can find even more places to eat and shop! If you want to go for a drive or wine tasting, you can take the 101 north to Solvang/Santa Ynez for gorgeous scenery and some of the best central California wines you can find.

Just returned from a week in Ventura, the resort is very homey and personable. The refrigerators are small. Don't buy icecream or plan to freeze anything. The staff is wonderful, movies and bike rentals are free. It was very cold while we were there. The pool was heated, Close to 6 Flags, Channel Islands. We went to the Fair. Love the place will return.

We enjoyed going to Harbortown Point Resort twice a year on 4th of July and on Christmas or New Year weeks. Now that we moved to Virginia, we are reminiscing about the great adventurous times that we had for many years while we were living in California.

We hope that others can experience and share the same joyful time that we had in this well-located and friendly resort with the spectacular view of the Marina and the Pacific Ocean.

Good spot. Just came back. One I'd highly recommend. I wouldn't call it a resort, even tho it has a pool and few activities. What it is a gorgeous location right on Ventura Harbor. It also is a super spot to jump off to places like Santa Barbara, Ojai, Santa Monica and all the PCH communities. Ventura offers some great spots and informal restaurants. One spot easy to miss but is a must see: the orchid farms in Carpenteria!

We have owned units here for about ten years and always look forward to returning. The site of the resort is picturesque and the location is very convenient to shopping, restaurants, and some of California's best boating, surfing, and "tourist-ing." Regionally, you can take the 1 south to Santa Monica, the 101 south to Burbank, and the 101 north to Santa Barbara -- each in about an hour or less.

The units were cleverly designed by a firm associated with the Frank Lloyd Wright school of design/architecture. MARINER units are the best studio units we've ever seen -- large, full bath with tub and separate shower and large closet and double sinks; good, well-equipped kitchen facility (but the undercounter refrigerator does *not* have a decent freezer), roomy dining/living area with gas fireplace, plenty of drawer space for clothing and personal items, and a queen bed that can be closed off with draperies. VOYAGER units are classified as 1BR units but consist of a Mariner unit *plus* an adjoining private bedroom with separate full bath. ISLANDER units are also classified as 1BR units but, like Voyagers, consist of a Mariner unit *plus* an adjoining private bedroom with separate full bath *and* an extra table *and* an extra undercounter refrigerator *and* a separate outside door. In summary, a "studio" Mariner sleeps 4 (one bed plus a pullout sofa) while both the 1BR Voyager and the 1BR Islander sleep 6 each (two beds plus a pullout sofa).

Harbortown Point is a good place to stay, a good base of operations for easy side trips in and to Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles Counties, and a real *bargain* to buy (with great trading value through Interval International).

We have stayed in this resort for Labor Day weekend of 2007. First of all, this is a really small facility to call a resort It is more like a hotel with few resort like activities and a small pool area. We did not mind it too much, because the location is great and we had a nice view from our balcony.

We had a 2 bedroom unit, but one "bedroom" was strangely placed within the living room and adjacent to the kitchenette. The fridges were small, very noisy and were not able to maintain ice or ice cream.

Cleanliness was another issue ... All beds, linens, pillows including the cushions in the living area and extra blankets in the drawers smelled musty and stale, you know like that musty, yucky body odors left from former guests. This resort seriously needs to stock up on febreeze. The towels were clean, but they were full of holes, very thin and hard like sand paper.

There are also boat docks in the back. One of our bedrooms was on that side. Work (and noise) starts at 8 am in the morning and continue until mid-afternoon.

Noise, coupled with smelly beds made it really hard to get a restful night's sleep.

This resort trades with II as a distinguished resort, but I think II needs to review this facility and downgrade.

On the positive side, staff members were rather friendly, guests can check out free videos for 24 hrs and the location is great.

As much as we love CA and location of this resort, we probably would not go back to this particular facility unless they renovate and clean up.

An intimate, well maintained resort by the sea. Ask for a unit looking out on the water. One hour drive north of LAX. Close to the water and sea faring activities, like trips to the Channel islands, etc. No exercise room, though.

Nearby are the old missionary sites of Ventura and lovely Santa Barbara (25 m north). Don't miss Ojai! This village tucked in the mountains with Spas (Sheila's is my favorite) and galleries is truly a gem of a place off the beaten path. Day trips will take you to Hearst Castle and some wineries.

The resort lent movies and bikes when I visited-which was a few years ago, hopefully they still do.

This is a very nice location. The two bedroom unit we occupied was roomy and very clean. The unit has a bed in the living area which is strange, but, really ok. Bathrooms are roomy. We had a limited view of the harbour. The balconies are solid at the bottom so to see one must stand. I noticed that some of the front units have glass enclosed balconies and patios. The pool is very pleasant and heated. I thoroughly enjoyed the area. Santa Barbara is very close by. We took a day trip to Anacapa Island. This was the highlight of the trip for me. Our grandchildren ages 5 and 6 enjoyed Magic Mountain (an hours drive) and the beaches and playgrounds in both Ventura and Santa Barbara. Solvang is probably an hour and a half drive.
