Sand Pebbles is a nice, simple, condo 'resort' ideally located on Hwy 1 in the artsy beach town of Solana Beach, CA. All the units have been updated with modest furniture, neutral carpeting and white wide-blade shutters. There is no A/C, but all units have fans (and wall heaters in every room). The resort has a nice, new, heated salt water pool and a new, larger spa. There are studios, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom townhouses and 2 bedroom "flats" (upstairs units and all on one level). The front desk staff is very helpful. My extended family has stayed in all of the unit types at one time or another - my favorite is the 'two-bedroom flat' (there are only 4). Everything you need is there. Some of the units overlook the pool area, while others overlook the other units; some face Hwy 1. There is public access via a set of stairs that lead you down a cliff to a beautiful sparsely populated beach below (it will get you in shape walking down and up these stairs)! There are beach umbrellas, boogie boards and beach chairs available to borrow. A short walkdown Hwy 1 is a walking bridge over the railroad that leads to the Cedros Design District with upscale shops (clothing, accessories, furniture), brewery, coffee houses, The Belly-Up night club for music, a dog accessory store and some various other "cool" places to roam - my favorite is a shop called "Solo" which is a collective of various 'cool' things to buy. On Sunday afternoons from 12-3, there is a Farmer's Market with varied cuisines by food vendors, fresh, organic fruits and vegetables as well as local crafts. California Pizza Kitchen and Rubios are just a building away from the resort. There is a walking path and sidewalk the entire length of Solana Beach, so you can rent bikes and ride to a lot of cool places along the town. The Hwy 1 bus can take you up and down the coast to other small beach towns like Del Mar, Encinitas, Leucadia and Cardiff-by-the-sea, Carlsbad and up to Oceanside. The Solana Beach Train Station is within easy walking distance; Amtrack and Coaster stop here. You can take Amtrack to Disneyland - no need to drive! and north to Los Angeles and points beyond via the Pacific Surfliner. The Coaster train runs from Santa Fe station (downtown) north to Oceanside and all the beach towns in between. Overall, The Sand Pebbles is a nice "place to stay and spread out" at a reasonable cost. Redweek weekly rental listings are about half of what a hotel in this area costs! Better yet - buy your own week at Sand Pebbles and come back every year!

Quiet resort steps across the street from a clean family friendly beach. Plenty of parking and easy access to San Diego and Los Angeles. Resort has a nice pool area and a large hot tub, both of which have recently been refurbished.

We've been coming to Sand Pebbles for many years and have never had a bad experience with the resort.

The location is wonderful, as the beach is not far. If you prefer the pool, it's a great set up... and the large hot tub is great!

Mom owned this timeshare for many years and we made lots of memories here. When she passed, I received it gratefully!

The staff here is wonderful! Every question you have will be answered.

The beach is a short walk away. Beach cities are all along Highway One where the timeshare is situated.

You'll have a great time making your own memories. Enjoy your stay!

We are here at the resort for Easter break. The resort is small, a little old, but very clean, and kitchen is fully stocked. Across the street is a fabulous nature walking trail, and the beach, nice and secluded, is a short walk behind the resort. 3 miles from Torrey Pines state beach and 1/2 mile from Fletcher Cove Beach Park, another nice place to have lunch and watch dolphins. We come here two or three times a year. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Love it here!

What a nice change from those large, busy, impersonal resorts. Sand Pebbles is clean, comfortable, friendly, home away from home that's just a block from the beach. Plenty to do nearby and a quiet relaxing condo to come home to. And San Diego is very accessible when we wanted to visit the city. A great home base to enjoy southern California from.

This is a very nice, small time share property that has very close access, a few minute walk, to a large sandy beach. It is also close to all the San Diego attractions such as Legoland, the SD Zoo, Balboa Park, Mission Bay, etc. The Del Mar Horse Racing Track is a few minutes away and is very fun when the track is open, approximately July - Sept. The units are spacious and clean. The pool, jacuzzi and BBQ area are all clean and nice to use.

Really fun location. Right next to the beach and close to Del Mar Race track. We waved down the free double decker bus right out on the street. Rode bikes up and down the coast. Easy ride to both Encinitas and Del Mar. The units are just what we needed. The guests at this resort are always super friendly. No resort fee or parking fees. Probably the best value I've ever had in a California Beach town. For the money you pay I bet you will leave this wonderful town wanting to come back.

I have stayed here 3 years in a row. I love that so many things are accessible, many restaurants in walking distance. Also, the train is right up the street if you want to go to downtown, which we always do. They have a pool and spa which has a BBQ right next to it. And of course, you can't beat the fact that the beach is a block away and that area of the beach is pretty secluded. I would definitely stay again.

We stayed here in February of 2006. With a family of 4, and two teenagers, a one bedroom unit flat was still large enough. The kitchen was huge, and the living room and dining room area was larger than any I have seen. The blow up mattess that we asked for was blown up and was made up with sheets when we arrived.

The location was superb, with the gorgeous beach about a block away, a very short walk across the street. The beach, with the sandstone cliffs were breathtaking, and the short walk was easy. The grounds and pool were beautiful. The units and grounds were scrubbed clean and the bird of paradise flowers were in full bloom. I was very pleasantly surprised at all of the gorgeous flowers and plantings on the property!

There was a California Pizza Kitchen within walking distance that was a lifesaver when we didn't want to go far in the car. The free breakfast at Sand Pebbles to welcome guests was a big push to get you to sign up for day long, guided bus trips at $100 a person. We took one to Mexico, and were sorely disappointed. Skip the tours from the Sand Pebbles travel desk and save your money. It was quite a long drive to Universal Studios (over 3 hours in traffic), but Disneyland was much closer. The San Diego Zoo was not too far, and moe than I had hoped for.

Sand Pebbles location is perfect, and we can't wait to return! This was a great timeshare week, and we are eagerly planning our return trip!

Great location but can tell it used to be apartments because of the cabinetry. However, it has all that you need and the main thing is that it has a GREAT location...easy access to San Diego or LA. Plus many attractions. Oh, you can't use the pool area after 10pm. Don't really like that since I am an adult and not a child and can be quiet in the hot tub!
