Our family has been staying at this resort for over 20 years. It is not oceanfront but sits atop the cliffs of Princeville - far from the crowds. Lush mountain waterfalls and everpresent rainbows are easily visible as is the ocean in the distance. The one bedroom units are 1700sf! No other resort has such spacious units. The decor is tropic island and units are continuously upgraded. Ask for a recently upgraded unit on check in - to be sure you don't get one with outdated furnishings. If you have noise sensitivity ask for a unit away from the main road - quiet hours are 10pm to 8am. Every ammenity for the 'comforts of home' is provided. Walking/biking paths take you all over Princeville and beaches are a short drive away (for the adventurous some beaches are accessible via walking trails down the cliffs). There's a reason we keep coming back every year to this wonderful resort. We love the expansive views, great staff, manicured grounds & pools and the increadible location.

This has always been a great resort--spacious rooms, ( much larger than other nearby) resorts, wonderful wrap-around lanai--but did need remodeling.

New owners Wyndham Resorts has done a great job in their remodeling, a great resort, now even better.

We have owned here for 20 years, and love it here.

Everything about this location and condo "community" is special. Kauai is considered the most "layback" island of all the Hawaiian Island chain. People are helpful and friendly, and my husband and I are treated with respect, and he is affectionately called "Uncle" by locals, as he has more gray hair than I.

We have visited the island of Kauai and Princeville area, including Hanalei for over 30 years. We call it our second home, because returning always feels that way. Between the idyllic scenery and wonderful fish (fresh catch of the day), and the world famous beaches, it is hard to choose which adventures we'll take-in on any given day.

For your first stay, I recommend one week, as this will give you just a taste of what is available, and enough time to seek out the best places to visit. I guarantee, most people will return, and stay longer next trip.

There is so much to see, not just on the North Side in Princeville and Hanalei, but there is also the famous Na Pali Coast (whale watching from one of Captain Andy's boats), to the West, the sunny beaches at Poipu, and plenty of scenic drives, like going into Waimea Canyon, or renting kayaks to go paddling on the river, or even tube down old irrigation canals in the hills.

The property and grounds at Ka eo Kai and Bali Hai Wyndham resorts, are kept in pristine condition. The staff is very helpful, and the 2 pools and 3 hot tubs are fantastic to hang-out, some even have waterfalls. I gave "Cleanliness" only 4 Stars, because it is somewhat objective. I just thought, on our last stay, the cleaning staff could have done a better job mopping the kitchen, and adjoining floors. I know the condos have a quick turn-around and are filled to capacity throughout all seasons, so I know they can't always be clean enough to suit everyone's standards. Go and enjoy the Island, you'll have no regrets!

This resort property is located on the north shore of Kauai in the Hanalei area where it is less crowded and more laid back compared to the popular south shore tourist spots (Poipu). The greenery and floral beauty are very lush and beautiful. Some of the greatest beaches in the world (Ke'e Beach, Hanalei Bay, Tunnels Beach) are also located on the north shores of Kauai, and because the north shore is not as touristy and the south shore, the beaches are often seem secluded or un-crowded. The staff at Ka 'Eo Kai really went out of their way to make us happy in all respects. The penthouse units of the 3rd floor of Phase III are exquisite!

I'm new to the TS world. Our first stay here was in a studio. I don't know the difference between phases but what I do know is that I fell in love with the island and the resort. We stood. in 27 EC facing the tennis courts with a side view of the gold course and ocean at the far end. The studio is just enough space for 2. We utilized our space on the balcony, spent evenings outside of the club-house playing cards and people watched. The grounds were kept up, the staff inviting and friendly, and our room provided everything necessary. Our visit was at the end of June and having no ac did not bother us; with the windows opened and the ceiling fan on the room was comfortable. I would love to return over and over again.

These are huge units, that sleep four adults very comfortably. Many have terrific views of the Makai golf course, with some views extending down to the ocean. There are no elevators, so the 3rd floor "penthouse" units require three flights of stairs.

The Club Wyndham Ka Eo Kai in Princeville is a laid-back resort in a beautiful tropical area along Kauai's northern shore. It is bordering the Makai Golf Club and is nestled amid breathtaking ocean and mountain views. The Princeville Shopping Center, housing a grocery store, restaurants and small local shops is within walking distance for those who enjoy a longer scenic walk.

The older units are especially nice and large, with the 2 bedroom deluxe condo units allowing access from the Master bedroom and kitchen/living area to a large lanai/balcony that wraps around the entire unit. An additional benefit is that some of these units have AC should those hot summer Hawaii days become too hot!

I can't believe they got rid of the free Mai Tai's!! Other than that, the place is great. Try to get a top floor unit, the celings are 20 ft high. Huge units, fully-stocked kitchen, nice pool. It is a bit dated, but the new company is doing a good job with remodel. Perfect place for taking kids. We go every-other year with my parents and our kids, and all of us are very comfortable in the huge apartments. I haven't seen a balcony/lanai like this one anywhere (another plus for the top floor). The kids love the putting green and the waterfall at the pool. We go with 4 other couples who own here as well, and we all love the place.

March 2007 Our unit had a Ionic Breeze air filter and industrial fan blowing as we entered the unit. The smell - mold/mildew - was horrible. We immediately contacted RCI for a move elsewhere. We were given key to another unit that smelled worse - like urine. Carpet was torn in many places, stained in many more, bug droppings on kitchen counter, mold in bathroom shower. The stairs up were rotted in places and there was very poor lighting making night-time movements outside dangerous - even getting to and from your car (trip over 2 unlit steps). How BAD was this place - we were willing to pay big bucks to reschedule an immediate trip home! Thankfully RCI got us another unit the next day - we were forced to spend 1 night there as we arrived around 6-7pm and couldn't really get any other accomodations. This resort needs massive makeover and clean up. Staff was very nice and gave us RCI complaint number - another couple had been moved elsewhere the day before - front desk told us that. Don't see how they keep RCI rating. It was a large unit.
