Just spent a week in a 2 bedroom in March 2014. The unit was large and comfortable. It was attractively decorated and included a balcony overlooking the pool (every unit has a view). The kitchen was poorly appointed and cooking was a challenge for our group of 7. The pools and beach area were very beautiful with plenty of cabanas, but we were quite disappointed to discover that ocean swimming was banned due to dangerous currents. We went to the pool daily, but found the unheated pool water and unheated hot tubs to be too cool for us (and we are northerners). Not even the spa Jacuzzi was heated?? Room service and service around the pool was great, although food was just average. We attended the Mexican Fiesta which was enjoyable, but a bit disappointing compared to other Mexican Fiestas which we have attended. Internet was incredibly slow and not worth paying for. It just seemed that the resort cut corners. We enjoyed our stay, but would give another place a try when we return to Cabo.

The Grand Mayan at Vidanta Los Cabos is absolutely fantastic! Our room felt like a luxurious home away from home – that king-size bed was incredibly comfortable, and the private terrace offered stunning views.

Now, let's talk about the pool situation – it was perfect for us. We spent time in the infinity pool, the activities pool, and the more laid-back resting pool, all while enjoying beautiful sea views. Big thanks to the staff for keeping us well-fed and refreshed right by the pool!

And the food was a highlight – Hakkasan Group did an excellent job. Samba and Si Snack became our favorite spots. And the Omnia Dayclub? It was pure relaxation. Lounging by the pool, good vibes, and excellent amenities – it was everything we needed. The Grand Mayan at Vidanta Los Cabos truly knows how to create an unforgettable vacation experience. Can't wait to return! 🌴😎

The Mayan does a great job with all its properties, and Cabo is no exception, although it is the smallest Grand Mayan resort. The benefit of that is that the resort is self-contained, with several good restaurants, fitness facility, Brio Spa, all within easy walking distance. And of course, the many pools and golf course!

The grounds are meticulously maintained and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Architecture and landscaping for the resort are a priority and reflect the Mayan Indian theme with large open spaces and their signature music. The units are spacious and have everything you'd find at a US resort, with English language channels on the TV as well as Spanish. Even the lockout unit can have a refrigerator for an additional $10. Twice-a-day maid service (day maid and evening turndown) keeps the unit looking nice. The beds were comfy for us, perhaps they've been changed since the prior review.

There are many activities for adults and kids if you choose to partake. It's only a 10-minute walk into the old town of San Jose del Cabo (or a $5 cab ride), where there are restaurants and art galleries galore, along with all the various vendors of everything imaginable. There is a small-town feel, but there are places for entertainment at the restaurants in town. Overall, a great vacation.

Rooms are beautiful. Beds are HARD. We all had a difficult time sleeping. The resort grounds/pool are very nice and it is also very quiet (nobody goes to the bar in the evening, etc.), food is mediocre, however the location is close to town and probably the best in San Jose. The town is very quaint and nicer than any other Mexican town I have been to. However, it too is very quiet. If you like a "lively" resort destination this is not it.

I had the pleasure of staying in this resort the first year it had opened and found the resort to be one of the nicest resorts I have ever stayed at. It definintely compares to the fabulous hotels, such as Fairmonts and Westins I have been to, with two to three times the square footage and space. Extreme luxury and a very affordable rental rate. How can you beat that.

This resort and the service reminds me of The Four Seasons--outstanding customer care! The spa services were also very good. Another plus is the close proximity to town. It's a pleasant walk to shopping and wonderful restaurants.

Fabulous property! The staff is superb - two maid services per day and very attentive lobby & activities employees. Excellent accommodations, very luxe.

Both the first entrance and the lobby are enormous and impressive. There is a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired walkway between them (that architectural method where the person goes from a small space into a gigantic space). The first entry foyer is very tall and dark, with enormous statues, with drumming in the background. Then you walk through this short (12 feet tall by 20 feet long?) hallway. Then at the end of that little hall, large glass doors swoosh "a la Star Trek" into a hidden pocket on the side (not front or back like at the bank or grocery store). and you enter into an enormous, light, bright, billowing, stately lobby.

The restaurants are open. We ate at two of them, one upstairs and one by the poolside. Food presentation is lovely (I'm a former long-time-ago restaurant reviewer). Lunch was about $45 - no alcohol. They were offering a Meal Plan for $210 that covered 7 meals, including some dinners. It was probably a good deal, but we ate in the room sometimes and also out offsite (we rented a car for the week, so took day trips to explore Totos Santos, etc.).

The service was superior - everyone was very pleasant and professional. There is twice daily maid service, and they are very thorough. Our room had a soaking pool on the balcony off the living room.

The poolside activity schedule was full: bingo, aqua aerobics, etc. Lots of people at the swim-up bar during happy hour (4pm - 5pm). There is a 9-hole golf course next door. Looked lovely. I think greens fees were $110, but guests get a 50% price break.
