We had a wonderful stay at Paniolo Greens on the Big Island. The resort was peaceful, beautifully maintained, and offered a perfect balance of relaxation and convenience to local shopping and restaurants. Our villa suite was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, making it feel like a true home away from home.

The grounds were lush and serene, and we loved the quieter, laid-back atmosphere overlooking the golf course - which had wild goats roaming on it in the mornings! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the location made it easy to explore the island from Hilo to Kona.

Paniolo Greens is an excellent choice for anyone looking for comfort, tranquility, and the authentic spirit of Hawaii.

Enjoy one week in 2025 at Paniolo Greens resort on the fabulous Big Island of Hawaii. You can book any week for the rest of this year, subject to resort availability with good odds of getting any week desired if booked this month with the exception of the Christmas, New Years, and the Iron Man (in October) weeks. These are 2 bedroom units and can sleep up to six if the pull out couch in the family room is used. This resort is about a 10 minute drive from the coast, a 20 minute drive to the mountain village of Waimea, about 2 hours to the summit of Mauna Loa (home to some of the largest telescopes in the world), 2.5 hours from Volcanos national park (home of Pele the goddess of fire), 30 minutes from the Kona airport, and about 15 minutes from Hapuna beach which we think offers both the world’s best body surfing and shaved ice. Humpback whales seem to be everywhere in the coastal waters from November through April and breaching is always a spectacular sight. Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa often have snow capped peaks during the winter months allowing for snow skiing and beach surfing in the same day! The Big Island is a wondrous place and truly has something that everyone will enjoy from endless coffee plantations, beaches (in white, black, and green sand), world class golfing, fishing, and snorkeling, a palpable local culture, and climates ranging from desert to frozen tundra to tropical rainforest all in one special place. You may decide to never leave. Book now to secure a memorable week in paradise for your family and friends!

Nestled in the heart of Hawaii’s Big Island, this resort is a veritable gem. Enveloped in a lush volcanic oasis, the resort offers spacious suites with private lanais, providing an idyllic retreat. On-site amenities include a rejuvenating spa, a tennis court, and many delectable barbecue areas. The pièce de resistance is the championship golf course, all modern amenities close by and numerous pristine white-sand beaches, conveniently accessible within the resort’s vicinity.

We LOVE staying at Paniolo Greens Resort! Quiet, centrally located to golf, shopping, restaurants, beaches, area events, highways and byways, this resort impresses with it's cleanliness, solitude, and willingness of it's employees to help in any way possible. We are world travelers, and can legitimately compare Paniolo Greens to many other resorts world wide. Paniolo Greens has many on-sight amenities such as pools, a hot tub, recreation center, tennis, golf, pickle ball, lawn chess, and a rental center for outing necessities (beach lawn chairs, body boards, coolers, snorkel gear and much, much more). The staff goes above and beyond to be helpful to nearly any request as well.

The Paniolo Greens Resort is on a beautiful 18 hole golf course, nestled in the small Village of Waikoloa, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean on one side and the huge mountains of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa on the other. Waikoloa Beach Resort is just a short drive down the hill. There is a supermarket, gas station, restaurants etc. located next door in Waikoloa Village shopping center. It is one of the best places to stay on the island at a very reasonable price for Waikoloa Hawaii!

We enjoyed our week stay at Paniolo Greens. We stopped by the week before to make a room request; Brittany helped us at check-in. Our request was for a corner unit which adds more windows and light, also increases the size. On our Friday check-in we were greeted by Jacob with a pleasant smile. BINGO, our request was granted. The unit was a two-story with living and kitchen on the main floor and two bedrooms and two baths upstairs. Somewhat inconvenient arrangement. There were also two flights of stairs to our front door. Good exercise.  A large balcony overlooked the golf course and Volcano Mountain from the living area with a small balcony off our bedroom upstairs. The lower units appeared to be quite dark and smaller in size. There also is one flight of stairs down. The turkeys and the Nene Geese (Hawaii’s State Bird) roam the grounds at will. Very enjoyable entertainment. The development will undergo a major upgrade starting in the spring of 2017. We enjoyed sightseeing from this location, farmers market abound and a trip down to Waikoloa where the big daddy’s of timeshare and hotels sit on the Pacific Ocean takes less than 10 minutes. In the Village shopping area 3-5 minutes from the resort is a large KTA grocery store which provides all of your needs.

I have owned this timeshare since 2001 and have no regrets. I have used it every other year with my last visit for several weeks being Jan/Feb '16. If you're looking for a wild, crazy resort this isn't for you. Families love this place for the pool facilities; grownups like it for the lay -back visit and access to the many tours on the island which you're briefed for once or twice a wk at the resort. Excellent tours available. All units are 2 bdrm with TV's in both bedrm & livingrm. Kitchen is lg, dning room/living room plenty big with a patio over-looking the excellent golf course. There are lower and upper units and we do prefer the lower due to the steps..We do hear visitors walking above periodically but it's never been a nuisance. Maid service is 2X a week and does the job. House keeping is always available and delivers kitchen needs, etc in minutes...I have never had a problem with that..they are there, I swear, before I've hung up the phone. A big plus this year is that they have finished the road from our loacation across the entire island to Hilo & takes about one hour. We do our grocery shopping at Costco (40 min by car) altho there is a well stocked grocery store right in Waikoloa along with numerous very good restaurants. Kona is 50 min drive. Public beaches are plentiful and a short drive from our units. Up grades to the units have been timely & from what I understand they're going to do another upgrade this next year.

I was amazed upon my arrival to find the pool area was under construction. We were never notified about this issue until we arrived. Several family groups renting the rooms needed the pool services for their children and elderly. No other accommodations were offered or given if asked. There was a community pool nearby on the golf course and we could not use it. The location is very far from the main city to purchase items over and above normal needed items. There were roaches and ants in each room we encountered. We rented 6 units and the maid service was fair. Sometimes we would request something and given a reasonable length of time, we would have to call again for service, if ever we could get something from the resort manager or staff. We did forget something and was never called about it, but we had to go back and inquire about another issue and they located the lost item and returned it. Kinda strange. At least we got our item back. The rooms for large gatherings were uncomfortable due to the fact they were not very large and the sound quality could be inappropriate for such activities. People were smoking in the open areas and the were no designated smoking areas set up. Golfers were even smoking on the greens and it was very unpleasant. I have definitely been at better locations...In Hawaii.
