i'm a longtime timeshare owner here and booked a 2 bedroom 2 bath for 2 weeks for 6 adults. It was specifically described as this:

"If space is a concern, our fabulous Two Bedroom Suite should set your mind at ease, featuring two spacious bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with two double beds, plus a full-size sofa bed in the spacious living area. There are up to three bathrooms (may vary by unit) with travertine marble décor, and bathtubs or showers. The living area and full kitchen provide the perfect setting for relaxing evenings, and the exterior balcony is furnished for up to 6 people so that everyone can enjoy the serene ambiance of their ocean or garden view."

A variety of photos of this space are advertised as well on site. Upon arrival we were told that they were "oversold" and they would not/could not give us what we paid for. They gave us 2 very old separate rooms in the old section (previously known as Del Mar - a different "resort") instead - each with just one bed & a very small sofa bed which was so old and dilapidated that we asked them to remove it. This was not at all what was booked/paid for and not enough room for all to sleep in even if we had wanted to stay there. NO "marble decor, no "two double beds," no "spacious living area." No "exterior balcony furnished for 6." No "view." The space we were given did not at all reflect the photos advertised either - it hasn't been updated in decades and is scheduled to be demolished . We would never book this space anywhere. We made numerous complaints and were told there was nothing they could do as the room we booked was not available. No refund. No restitution. No apology.

We asked multiple times to talk to the supposedly on site member services manager. Each time we were denied - "he is not available."

On the third day, we were offered a bribe. IF we attended a timeshare sales presentation they would move us to "a beautiful two bedroom" - the type we actually booked, paid for and were told was unavailable. We insisted that we would only go to this sales talk IF were moved to this room first. They refused and the offer was withdrawn.

Bottom line: your confirmation means nothing. They can and will put you in accommodations that are completely different than what you booked and what was advertised/confirmed. You will be given no warning of this. Had we known in advance, we would have cancelled the trip.

We have stayed at this beautiful resort many times. We really enjoy all the fantastic entertainment the resort has each night. The staff is incredibly helpful and eager to help with information. The service is fantastic. Fun on the beach is bif on the volleyball courts. two happy hours each day keep you happy; 2 for price of 1. Order the Margarits with no ice! This makes it 4 for 1! Hiking trails are close/ The bus ride to the Romantic zone and town beach restaurants is .50. Yes, fifty cents! PV is a very safe town.

This resort has everything you need and more... The activities and entertainment are great. The property was recently redecorated. The grounds are so beautiful and well maintained.

Loved the decor, very unique. Clean and well-stocked kitchenette. Decent sized a pool and beach area and it was nice to be right across from the Food Park. They will set you up with beach chairs and an umbrella for free. Overall a great experience. Huge thanks to Brayan for serving by the pools/beach on several of the days. He was so friendly and ensured great service. I really liked the variety of pools and locations throughout the resort. Excellent friendly service. The breakfast buffet was delightful and the family said the made-to-order omelets were the best they ever had. The food is totally delicious

Great location, all-inclusive meal plan available for a fee (price available on request). Excellent service/social activities including theme nights (some at a small extra charge). Nice variety of restaurants within easy walking distance. Or catch a bus and head for the Malecon or the Romantic Zone.

This resort has been recently upgraded and the rooms are all repainted and beautifully maintained. All the restaurants at the resort are good the variety of food is excellent - authentic Mexican, new sushi place, Italian and more - you also can buy all inclusive if you are willing to eat all your meals at the resort.

Just returned from 5 weeks at UVC resorts 3 weeks at Villa del Palmar, 1 week Palmar Flamingos and 1 week Del Mar. My impression on arrival and the total length of our stay was how absolutely clean ALL the areas of the resort were. During our stay we had several first time guests visiting and they commented several times on the appearance, upkeep, and cleanliness of the grounds and condo. We actually found the Palmar condo cleaner than Flamingos and better equpped. Upgrades are continuous each season. Yes, one could arrive just as lights need upgrading, or fan needs repair...just call front desk and it will be replaced or repaired. Yes, if you are there during a high season week.. you may have to call a 2nd time. I have had fridge freezer door replaced, exchanged for cleaner couch, etc. They, need to know if something is not right and will replace or fix. If you are worried about the marble floors and your feet wear flip flops. All Mx, tile/marble floors are magnets to dust/dirt. We have been owners since 1986 and now our family, into the 3rd generation, is enjoying all the benifits of the property and its location as a 2nd home, or well deserved holiday week (s). And, the attitude of all the staff; housekeeping, front desk, bell boys, on site entertainment (bit lound for us oldtimers mid afternoon) is great...all ways cheerful and welcoming and wanting to please their guests... an attitude we try to also reciprocate as guests in their city. We look forward to our return this winter and 'the kids' really like the hype of 'spring break weeks' and so do their friends and families, who, after renting at other resorts in the area, say "The Palmar/Del Mar" has the best of everything we need on vacation and have confirmed condos. Ocean view with huge balcony! I saw a mother and baby whale frolicking in bay right from my ocean front huge balcony! The sunsets are absolutely gorgeous! Close to the Melacon. Lots of dining options at resort or around town.

excellent resort 5 stars all the way!

It is right in Puerto Vallarta, within walking distance of shopping malls and restaurants. During our last visit there was a collection of food trucks and booths across the street with all kinds of authentic Mexican fare.

The Villa del Palmar resorts are all excellent in my opinion. And Feb. thru March are the most popular vacation times as the weather is fabulous! If you enjoy exploring the downtown area as well as "Old Town PV", this is the ideal location. I will be there myself with family in this resort!

Our favorite resort! The staff are amazing and we have always been very comfortable here We love the location and the beach! So many amazing places to eat that we rarely add the optional All Inclusive!

A great location, fabulous beach and pools, and incredible staff. Family friendly and quiet at night.

I have stayed for many years and this resort is cheap for what you get. Great people, safe, close to the bus(out the front door), nice beach, and good food. I will be back again, and again. No complaints, the only thing that is outdated is the old TV but who goes there to watch TV? Many great resturants, too many to name. They scrub the room everyday, but mexican tile just gathers dust, wear slippers. Great location!

We really had a great time with my brother and mother (first time aftem my chilhood years that we did travell all together again) The place is great and clean We did bought 2 weeks after leaving ....One for me and one for my brother We hope to visit the place again soon Hope and wish you that you will have the same good time like I did with my familly Thank you for reading and TRUST ME if you plan to visit Mexico this is a great DEAL!

We have owned and used this resort for 20 years and continue to enjoy the facility year after year. The staff is friendly and helpful, the suites are kept in top condition; the views are lovely from all but perhaps 1-2 % of the suites, the restaurant does a fine job with the food (the Americana is also next door with lovely walking areas and excellent restaurants), the entertainment has always been delightful and the resort is convenient to trips downtown as well as the airport-all making for an excellent value and a wonderful family vacation. If you decide you wish to talk to a knowledgeable sales-person who does not pressure you about purchasing, we also recommend talking to Mark Baker, a native Washington state guy who has moved to Puerto Vallarta and loves it. We visited this resort in February 2006 and again October 2006. During our February trip, the floor in our unit was so dirty that we had to keep shoes on our little ones or their feet would be black from the dirt even after the maids had mopped. During our October visit our unit had a terrible ant problem in the kitchen and a women thought she needed to rid herself of her tan lines by removing her top at the pool. This is supposed to be a family friendly resort but I could get no help from the staff to get the women to put her top back on while we were at the pool with our small children. We love PV but don't care for this resort so we purchased at another resort down the street and doubt we'll ever be back to VDP Puerto Vallarta. And I agree with other postings that this resort is in serious need of renovations.

Close to downtown restaurants and entertainment but you are in a relaxed beach atmosphere.Good health club with nice friendly staff. BBQ area is fun.We loves relaxing at the various pool areas. Walking distance to a huge supermarket and other interesting stores.. In fact we did not need to rent a car. Bus and cabs are very accessible.

We love this place. It has well-cared for grounds, beautiful pools, and is located right on the beach. I don't mind the timeshare salespeople and beach vendors. It's all part of the atmosphere. The Mexican people are friendly and love to please the tourists!

Being GOLD members, we have the option of staying at all 5 locations. So far, we have stayed at the Villa Del Palmar -in Vallarta and the Villa Del Palmar Flamingos in Nuevo Vallarta. We are planning a trip the last of April 2006 to Cabo San Lucas, staying at the Villa Del Palmar.

So far, our favorite location is Villa Del Flamingo-it is new but not as much entertainment as Villa Del Palmar-Vallarta.

Being approached by Sales people is to be expected when you visit any RESORT. That is how some people make their living. Hey, accept the discounts, dinners,and shows, etc and just learn to say no if that is where your mind is. No one is going to make you purchase!

We love being Vacation Club owners-it allows you the opportunity to travel to different places!

Overall the resort was nice - however - the sales people pushing their other resort (Flamingo) were too much. The front staff personnel turn very rude when you decline visiting the other resort. As for the rooms - let's just say they could use some renovations (tacky old 70's furniture and fixtures). The best part of the resort is the pool area.
