The rooms are big and the screened-in porch overlooking the lawn, and/or the ocean, cannot be topped.

I am giving it 1 star because of the beds. I hurt my back so badly on their cheap bedding that I didn't recover until 5 weeks after we came home. My friends were in the guest room and the husband had to sleep in a living room chair because the beds were so bad!

Too bad too, because Sanibel Cottages enjoy a fabulous location with the promise of being a nice resort. It's just not a Gold Star Resort because of the horrible beds. I spent five weeks in agony and I'll never go back there again!

My family and I have been spending our Christmas holidays at the Cottages for the last 35 years,The whole resort, our units are beautifully redone after Hurricane Ian damaged our island paradise. We‘re looking forward to spending Christmas and the beginning of 2026 right there on the beach.

Have stayed other places in Sanibel and Captiva, but Sanibel Cottages is my favorite! The units are very large 2/2 and the property is beautifully landscaped. Great central location. Newly installed pickleball and tennis courts with shaded gazebo makes it even more attractive!

The remodeling of the resort since Charlies' damage has made this more luxurious than ever. It is certainly THE place to stay on Sanibel with great location and Super staff. Don't miss it when you go to Florida!

One of the best kept secrets in Sanibel. Only 28 units...therefore very private and peaceful. Units are clean, very large (1500 sg. ft.) and the porches are fabulous. If you visit Sanibel this is the place to stay.

We stayed there in September 2002. The units were great - nicely furnished and clean. The large porches, both screened and open, were wonderful. Ours looked out on the beach. The grounds and beach were nice - very private. Very peaceful location. Staff was friendly.

We have stayed at Sanibel Cottages for the past eight years. The units have the most interesting layout on the island: the sliding glass doors recess into the wall so the living room opens onto the screened-in porch. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the staff is responsive, and the property is ideally located on West Gulf Drive near a grocery store, movie theatre, shops, and restaurants. And, of course, it's right on the beach.
