Kahana Beach Resort Reviews & Ratings

We have been staying here annually for about 10 years. 1st this is NOT a 5 star resort. It is a decent older timeshare/hotel. We love it because of the 5 star view, 2 mins from room to ocean, great snorkeling, abundance of turtles, easy parking, 2 mins from car to room, no crowds and 10-15 mins from the big resorts on this side of the island. When we stay in a studio, we double up the pull out mattress on the Murphy bed. When we stay in our 1 bedroom we buy a 2-3" mattress topper from target. Both options are fine for us. We've never had an issue with bugs. Of course there are exceptions, we are on a tropical island in a building with open hallways. The studio kitchen can be challenging but we make it work. The 1 bedroom has everything we need. We purchased here because it fits our island desires, budget and needs....the morning rainbows over the ocean are a bonus!

I have owned a month here since 2010 and used almost every week myself or shared with family. I have also sold my weeks when we were unable to use and the renters have always been pleased. This isn't an "upscale" resort but the location on the beach in a quiet part of Kahana/Honokawaii can't be better. The one bedroom units are all on the northwest corner of the building and have spectacular views and are less than 40 feet from the great beach below.

Close enough to the ocean for unobstructed ocean views and a lulling sound of waves crashing at night. My favorite part of the timeshare is the huge balcony. Fun to have dinner outside and watch the dolphins and sometimes the whales play! Not too big of a resort so it's pretty quiet and beautiful there.

Beautiful updated unit, AC, best location on west Maui, amazing views from lanai, walk onto beach from building. Peaceful, quiet, convenient to all shopping and Lahaina!

Stayed here again in February 2025 in both a studio and one bedroom unit. We just loving sitting on the lanai and looking out across the ocean. We see turtles, monk seals and rays swimming by. The whales put on magical breaching shows. We saw the most fantastic sunsets and rainbows!!! Will stay here again and again.

This is a beautiful Resort located directly on the beach with views of Lanai and Molokai from your balcony you can watch the turtles swim by in the water below you it's located close to restaurants, bars and shopping located in Kaanapali just minutes from Lahaina and Whalers Village it is perfect location.

Located on top of the beach, we sit and watch the whales come from Alaska, have their babies, then head back after 6 weeks or so in between Maui and Lanai. We couldn’t get enough of the whales, the mountains,the beach and the fun restaurants and people. Our kids have all been here, no one wants to leave. Great for couples, or the entire family.

The resort is one of the few resorts that is directly ocean front; your room faces the Ocean and you can view the two islands, Lanai and Molokai. The balcony is not large, but you can still sit out on it and watch people on the beach or turtles swim by. It is also air condition. This week reserved is a good week to sit on your balcony and catch whale activity.

Kahana Beach Resort has recently been remodeled! At 1200 sq. ft, this spacious corner one bedroom , two bathroom unit comfortably accommodates four and provides private balcony, overlooking the Pacific Ocean!,Full kitchen, dining area & Living Room. 1 king bed, 1 queen sofa bed, T.V. Air Conditioner & free WiFi. Sleep to the sound of the ocean waves!

Direct beachfront! Fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. Watch turtles swim by. A/C, elevators, free parking. Full sized fridge, 2 burner cooktop, microwave. No dishwasher or washer dryer. There are coin operated ones in the building. Convenient for walking to restaurants Dollies Pub and Bar, Miso Phat sushi with byob, there's a small convenience store next door across the street. The Beach House bar and grill next door for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A block up the street is McDonald's and Maui Brewing company. A Chevron gas and convenience store. Heated pool. BBQs, hot tub. I love this place. The Beach in front is not rocky but Sandy and very tame.

One cannot get any closer to the Pacific Ocean than this ocean front resort. It is one of the best kept secrets of Maui. Sit on the sands of the beach right on the resort & watch the live turtles swim or rest right in front of you. If you are lucky, you will even see a whale breach, reach out of the water to breath & exhale ocean water. You will witness some of the most awesome, breathtaking views, including sunset views, from here while you breath in the healthy negative ions from the ocean waters. This is Paradise on earth.

Been an owner for 23 years. All condos have been renovated in 2024 with all new Furnishings and appliances Right on the ocean. You can’t get any closer. 2 lanai’s and large windows so you can view the ocean wherever you are in your room. Walk out straight to the beach. Very quiet and peaceful.

Exceptional resort. Great location, right on the beach, between Lahaina and Kapalua. Views of Molokai and Lanai. Excellent facilities on-site for a relaxing vacation. Away from crowds, but close to everything.

We have thoroughly enjoyed staying at this extremely well located resort with our two sons. The resort was very well maintained and the staff was very helpful. Our vacation with our family was priceless We went snorkeling, swimming, attended several shows nearby and went sightseeing throughout the island. Our experiences have been amazing.

We own a 1 bedroom unit here and love the resort. We last stayed here Dec. 27-06 and are always amazed how well everything is maintained and kept up-to-date and is always clean. This was our 5th stay and you really get spoiled with the view and actually just walking a few steps out to the beach! Last visit we even found out they are not allowed to build this close to the ocean any more. The resort is conveniently located to everything!The sister resort next door has a wonderful poolside restaurant that is great for times when you just don't want to cook. The staff is great and you don't have to walk a mile to your room which is even better! Try it you'll like it!

Kahana Beach Resort is a quiet, oceanfront property on Maui’s west side near Napili and Kapalua. The 1-bedroom units are spacious and include full kitchens, which makes longer stays comfortable and convenient.

The property is smaller and more relaxed than the large resort complexes, which we appreciate. The beach access and proximity to West Maui beaches and golf are definite highlights.

It’s a good fit for couples or small families looking for a condo-style stay in a less crowded setting.

Unbelievable view from this resort suite. From the balcony you have a 180 degree view of the ocean and sunset. Amazing location with lots of wildlife to see and friendly staff.
