The Grand Mayan at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta Reviews & Ratings

We will soon be staying at the Grand Mayan for the 4th year in a row, next month. We are not owners and have found it is much less expensive to buy owners weeks.

We love this property! This property is massive and makes you feel like you are on a private island. The grounds are beautiful and the wood plank walkways are romantic and fun to stroll. The food is good, and the service Staff is friendly. However, the food is often a little slow to arrive for my hungry family. An owner explained that was because my family wears a "rental" bracelet and guests who are renters get served after the owners. That's rude!

The pools are never ending. The temperature of the water is very inconsistent at night, which is a bummer if you like to unwind in the evening. Some nights it was warm and pleasant, other nights it was chilly. I wish someone would do something about that. Sadly, there is not a hot tub at the Grand Mayan. The nights in March are chilly and a hot tub would be welcomed.

As much as we love the Grand Mayan, we will not buy here unless a change is made back to the original layout in front of the lobby...here it is: The only negative comment that is critical for interested individuals to know, is there is no longer shuttle service to the lobby of the Grand Mayan. That changed sometime from our spring break visit in 2015, to the change being in place in 2016. In order to now get anywhere on this MASSIVE property you have to walk about 200 yards to the Santuario to catch the complimentary shuttle! This is beyond stupid and incredibly inconvenient. Vidanta made a huge mistake by "landscaping" the front, just outside the lobby. This is the reason my overall rating is a 4, and not a 5. Luxury resorts should never inconvenience their valuable guests like this. Guests with physical limitations, elderly people who have a hard time walking, or families with young children, think about this hassle before booking here. If Vidanta wants the highest ratings, they will dig up the landscaping and bring the shuttle to the front entrance once again.

This is a beautiful place to stay with perfect weather. This condo is right next to the beach and the lazy river that you can ride around for hours. There are over 20 tasty restaurants and many pools with activities such as water aerobics and ping pong. There are 2 18 holes golf courses where they hold the Mexican Open and there is a par 3 course. Nightly entertainment is amazing. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

This is our absolute favorite resort and destination in all of Mexico! The sprawling 2000 acres are impeccably groomed and maintained, along with all of the pools, restuarants, entertainment, spas, golf, and beaches. There is so much to explore and enjoy at this resort. You never want to leave!

Vidanta is magnificent, from the quality of service, to the incredible variety of fun to be had. The water park, golf, spa, Cirque de Soleil, and fabulous choices of restaurants, this cannot be beat. You are safe, they pick you up at the airport, you never have to leave this property! Of course I took 3 excursions as well which were so memorable!

My family has been going to Vidanta Resorts since 2007 we have never had an issue and the staff is always gracious and kind. We always feel safe taking our children, grand children and new travellers with us.

Family friendly. Quiet and relaxing if that’s what you want. Nightly entertainment if you like the night life.

Enjoyed 7-night stay at The Grand Mayan the week after Thanksgiving. The 2bd/2ba unit was spacious and clean. The staff is very friendly and attentive and made our first-time stay memorable. The lazy river and many selection of pools are awesome. The Grand Mayan is close to the beach, but the overall resort is huge! Bring comfortable sandals and walking shoes -- leave the heels at home. Can't wait to go back!

Our week stay in Vidanta Grand Mayan Nuevo Vallarta 8/23/25 was booked through a friend and paid $1,400 for a one bedroom unit (we added a spending credit of $1,400). Would never do this again! All the restaurants and drinks overpriced (example poolside two orders of fish tacos and two non-alcohol smoothies with tip $75. Also went to “Tremont” Italian restaurant ordered one cocktail and shared a surf and turf (lobster was like chewing on a piece of rubber) spent $300 US dollars! Arrived and booked a timeshare presentation for the very next morning (wanted to receive the 10% discount). We were told it would be a 60 minute commitment, turned into 7 hours! Sooooo many lies with what they said they were giving us vs what was actually in our contract, UGH!! My best advice is don’t give them the time of day. Immediately upon returning home we’ve started the process hiring an attorney to get out of the contract. We missed the 5 day rescission window because who wants to ruin their vacation reading over their contract right!? You want to believe people are honest and good like yourself but the reality is they don’t give two sh!ts about you and it’s all about the dinero!

I have stayed at this Grand Mayan resort, each year, for the past 18 years and have found it unmatched for value and convenience.

My grandchildren loved the Kids Club, which gives the parents a chance to relax or play a round of golf. The swinging pools are the largest in Mexico. The Park is an exciting new feature. There are several restaurants on site and several good restaurants a short walk down the beach.

All the amenities add up to a wonderful experience and vacation I am sure you will enjoy.

Extraordinary resort with plenty of amenities for groups of all ages. A high recommendation for people looking for a wonderful week long getaway!

Incredible resort covering over 2500 acres. Have to see it to believe it! AAA 5 Diamond property.

This 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath unit with full kitchen is within walking distance of beach, pools, lazy river. On site bakery, grocery, butcher, and shopping. Miles of shady boardwalks access many different pools with food services. A choice of several fitness centers. Nightly entertainment is part of a luxury experience. Ride the resort gondola to a new amusement park and an exclusive Cirque du Soleil theatre. World class golf courses. So many restaurants! Free shuttle service throughout the resort. Security is a high priority at this resort, along with amazing service!

We stayed at Vidanta Resorts for a week in 2022. Our family had a fantastic time at the resort. Enjoyed different cuisines, resort activities for all our family, etc.

The Grand Mayan at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta is our favorite resort in all of Mexico. We have been going for over 10 years now, since my daughter was 2 years old and enjoyed all the children pools and activities! As for us adults, we have enjoyed how it has grown with the exclusive pro golf courses! It has always been a rememberable vacation when staying here!

With multiple locations, you can enjoy a memorable week(s) at any of Vidanta’s Grand Mayan locations (Nuevo Vallarta, Los Cabos, Riviera Maya). The staff are attentive, the service is exceptional, the rooms and amenities are world class!!! Do NOT hesitate- book your stay!!!
