Read more »These units are located in the Casa De Emdeko complex right next to the ocean in Kona. The complex has two beautiful swimming pools, one in the landscaped courtyard between the buildings and one right next to the ocean which is a one of a kind swimming experience. The courtyard is beautifully landscaped with a lovely fountain and includes a large Cabana for entertaining guests, several large BBQ grills with a view of the ocean and numerous tables and chairs to dine while enjoying a sunset on the ocean. Great spot to share an evening with friends. There is also an on-site sandy beach with lounge chairs for sun time and a few palm trees for shade if you want it. A baby whale was even once born right off of Lea Casa. The Lea Casa units are newly remodeled one bedroom with a lovely lanai overlooking the courtyard, a nice living room with TV, etc., and a well-equipped kitchen with all appliances and large granite counter. The recent update included all new lighting, a new bathroom with separate entrance from the hallway, a new large vanity and mirror and all new paint. The bedroom features a queen bed and there is also a sofa-bed in the living room with a new thick mattress for guests.
Units also include all your accessories for your beach experience or exploring the wonderful sites in Kona and on-island. Recent upgrades include keyless entry, great wi-fi and a TV in the bedroom.

BBQ area and sunsets a plus. Close to restaurants, entertainment, shopping, Kona Brewing company, Coffee Farms for tasting , beaches, fun in the sun! The Big Island has soo many amazing natural wonders and unique things to do. Snorkeling at night with the manta-rays is a must. Can’t wait to come back!

Read more »I LOVE Lea Casa! I also understand the older reviews. There are only four actual timeshares in this condo. They have all been totally redone in the last few years. They have even been redesigned, which was needed to give better access to the bathroom. New flooring, furniture, new thick mattresses, new stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, all new paint and no wallpaper. The outside is so beautiful! My favorite is the cabana area, where one can bbq, read, visit, watch the sunsets. Gorgeous! The saltwater pool and sandy, private beach is also a favorite. The cabana is lite with tiki lights at night. These are all good places for quiet relaxing or meeting new friends. A welcome letter gives good info to get you in and keep you secure.

Read more »Stayed here on an RCI exchange in 2007. Most of the units appear to be whole ownership (a good thing) and the full time owners are very friendly. After hours check-in is weird with a keybox on the door thing -- at least in 2007 for RCI exchange. As this is not really a "resort" there is no real person at a "front desk" after hours. But the manager lives on site and was helpful and polite after hours (even though we interrupted his dinner!)
Location is great. Close to all the good stuff in Kona. You definitely need a car. While the property is oceanfront do not expect a beach. After all, this is the Big Island which is basically a big volcanic rock! If you want BEACHfront go to MAUI! Nevertheless, the oceanfront area was nice and snorkeling is possible (and good) SOMETIMES when the surf is very low. Otherwise, the oceanfront is for viewing only (which is OK with me -- MaiTais recommended!).
Well maintained property. Room was spacious, clean, well maintained and well equipped. Pool was in good shape. Would gladly stay here again. Good value for the money!

Read more »We stayed at #127. It was very lucky that we ran into the groundskeeper who explained where the unit was in the complex (it's also an apartment bldg). Apparently, the manager is in the office bldg in front of the complex, but we never saw her. There is a key lockbox on the front door of condo to pick up the keys. No housekeeping service is provided. There is a launderette in the complex.
The saltwater pool was closed for repairs during our stay. The condo is ocean front but the "beach" is all black lava rocks. Not very suitable for swimming. The nearest swimming beach is called Magic Sands, it's about 3 miles away.
Best beach for snorkeling is 4 miles away at the Outrigger resort area.
The unit had 1 bdrm, 1 bath (located in the bdrm) a pullout couch in the LR. Nice sized kitchen. Very small, crammed with wicker furniture. I had to put some stuff out on the lanai to make room for kids stuff. Unit was very dated 70's style.
Best thing was the lanai right next to the freshwater pool. Lush tropical garden with birds. Good for coffe in the am. Actually, it's the kitchen table too. Beautiful sunsets from the sea wall. Good bbq area by pool. There is a nice deli/foodstore in front of the complex to pickup warm food.
Overall, the location wasn't too convenient to downtown Kona. A car is a must to do anything there. The unit was pretty worn but at least it had ac.
If I go back to Kona, I'd stay at the Outrigger or at a resort in downtown area. The Hilton in Waikoloa Beach is outstanding.
