It's been a while since this resort has had a review. Let's bring it into this decade!
My wife and I (56) stayed week of January 23-30, 2016. We loved it! First time at Marco and we looked at all the other resorts while there and we would come back here before any of them. That will always depend on what you're looking for in a resort vacation. We stayed in E107. The E building is on the ocean front. It is has two levels, 16 units total. On the first floor you have more vegetation but can see the beach and Gulf sunsets just fine from the patio. Only access is stairs, even for 1st level (8 steps I think, there are 3 steps in unit to get to bed/baths) Unit was perfectly clean and comfortable. For just two of us, room to spread out a little a plus. Furniture a little outdated, but typical Florida decor. (hate glass tables though) Fixtures all new/newer and worked perfectly. Being the 1st level, you hear upstairs moving... not walking, but patio furniture on concrete floor scuffling. Side to Side noise very minimal, but if your patio doors are open and neighbors are on their patio, you hear it. (like everywhere else) Every unit has own covered parking space on ground floor.
Staff/Service: Saw them twice. Checking in and checking out. Towel exchange on Wednesday. Very nice as expected.
Grounds are clean and pretty. Used pool once, clean and large enough. There were very few children here. No fitness area, which is a negative for me. There are tennis courts, but never used and never saw them used by anyone else.
Area: Marco Island, first time here. Liked it better than Ft. Myers. This location is right in the middle of two beach places for food/beverages, Stilts and Quinns. Walking distance to other places off beach, closest being Stonewalls, which had great pizza. Grocery/pharmacy/shopping is a 10-15 minute drive away.
Amenities: We came here for the beach. Top Priority. Beach cabanas, umbrellas, chaise lounge are for rent by day/week ($26/day). Not affiliated with resort and what you expect. The beach itself is shelly... beach shoes are a good thing.
Overall: We will come back here. We are not owners, we just go to Florida one week per year to get away from snow for a relaxing, low key beach vacation. Found it.
