We first started coming to Fishermen's Village on an exchange. We fell in love with the area and the great staff and ended up buying a unit. There are various water activities in the surrounding area as well as an excursion to a secluded beach. We were fortunate to have a pod of Dolphins following our boat. They were playing in the wake that we which made for some fantastic photos. The unit is cozy with wonderful decor and two nice sized bedrooms. The bed was soft and inviting and the room has always been clean. There is laundry facilities on the permises.

There is plenty of food choices and great shopping just below your unit. If you want a quite unit just ask to be located by the front office. On weekends there is music at the end of the complex by Harpoon Harry's but isnt a vacation about letting your hair down and having fun. Their are free bike rental, tennis courts and a large pool. Kick back and come on your vacation at Fishermen's Village

My wife and I exchanged into this resort in 2006. I agree with everything in the earlier review by Ken. In addition I feel this may be a good place for a family. "But", as mentioned in another review, only one bathroom, also the loft is just above the outside bedroom and the wall from the living room doesn't go all the way to the roof, therefore this bedroom lacks privacy, even if there were only two couples. This bedroom cantileevers out, over the access road, and traffic noise was a problem when the Bars and Resturant closed in the early A.M.

We have been to about 25 different timeshare locations and I would place this in the bottom 10%.

My wife, on the other hand, liked the shopping outside the door (I heard other quests complain of the noise created by cleaning machines in the mall in the early morning) and enjoyed the water view. Because we were just the two of us, privacy and one bathroom were not issues. She would rate it in the bottom 50%. Terry

We stayed at Fishermens Village in August 2006, there were six of us and we had a wonderful week. Staff was very helpful, units clean and service excellent. There was just one bathroom for a two bedroom unit. A very comfortable and inviting resort.

We all enjoyed the pool and fishing from the pier. The shops and restaurants on the first floor were very good and convenient. The hair salon was convenient. The excursions were available on premises and very good. Well worth the price charged.

We enjoyed watching the dolphins swimming in the harbor from our balcony, alot of natural wildlife in the area.

We recommend this resort for families with children. There is alot to do in the area and it is not outrageously expensive, yet it is a family atmosphere.

Unless you happen to have a boat tied up right here, in my personal experience and opinion there is really very little to recommend about either this facility OR about much else in the surrounding area.

It's hard to believe, but despite being "on the water" at this facility, unless you have a boat it's actually still a *45 minute* drive to the nearest beach (located in Englewood).

On the plus side, a (commercially available) boat trip out to pretty and unspoiled Cayo Costa is a worthwhile day trip and the inshore fishing in the Charlotte Harbor area is good (commercial day trips or 1/2 day trips are available).

This resorts offers something for everyone in the family. Daily charters for the fisherman, unique shops for the ladies and a swimming pool for the kids. The proximity to area resorts makes this the perfect place to stay.

The restaurants on site offer a variety food to choose from not including the coffee, cookie & ice cream shops for the sweet tooth. Smugglers restaurant gives that adults a chance to unwind & kids entainment in the game room.

The facility recently received a face lift and interior renovations from the storm damage and turned units from a one bedroom in to a two bedroom with plenty of room to sleep eight people.

The on site security & office staff make this a pleasant & enjoyable vacation spot. This is one resort we will make several return visits to in the years to come.

This is one great location for a timeshare...right on the water...gentle sea breeze...with boats, restaurants, entertainment, shopping and a great view. Fishermen can take a charter boat for a memorable fishing trip...or site-seeing boat trips are also available for those who want to veiw the gulf coast sunsets. The units themselves are well kept and comfortable. The staff if friendly and helpful. You will definitely have a nice time at Fishermen's Village!
