fabulous place. very small with only 15 units and quiet. Rooms are beautiful and clean. Comes with free golf at the Dunes. No better place in January than Sanibel. Excellent gulf front views. Sunsets are wonderful.

Hurricane House is an intimate resort located on Sanibel Island. Fully refurbished after Hurricane Ian in 2022, the units are comfortable, updated and each has its own lanai with a gulf view. Pool, spa, courts and beautifully landscaped property. Manager on site. A few hundred yards from the first floor unit (raised to meet Island requirements) to the famous shelling beaches of the West Gulf with swimmable water and conservation protected turtle nests and vegetation. Assigned Covered parking.

Stayed here the week after New Year's 2007 and was very pleased with this reasort because it was quiet, but not secluded. It was right on beach so you could hear waves, smell a little ocean air and walk the beach from convenient private walkway. Depending on unit you might need to be prepared to walk to second floor for bathroom facilities and laundry, but units were clean, well maintained and well stocked. Please note there are elevators in each building for saving you the outside access stairwells with luggage and/or groceries. Excellent location for just enjoying peace and quiet while you listen and view the waves. There are no resort sponsored activities which was fine with us since so much of the island is easily accessible by car or bike and added to the peaceful atmosphere.
