Fabulous location! Local sites within walking distance! Totally charming!

Location, Location, Location...What more can be said. We stayed in a one bedroom unit that over looked Market Street. When we arrived we were met by the valet who was going to park our car, $20.00 a day mandatory, told us that since we had Handicap plates, if we self parked the fee would be waived by the city. This is true at all of the parking lots in Charleston. Check in was not problem. You could not ask for a nicer staff. We were short a wine glass, called down and in 2 minutes we had one at our door. They only had maid service once a week but we informed them we liked fresh towels each day and there was no washing machine in the room, we immediately had maid service offered each day at no charge. The units are small, you could stand in the kitchen and open the fridge door and at the same time open the oven door on the other side of the kitchen. It is a one person kitchen. The bedroom is up a flight of stairs but has a balcony that over looks the marketplace and could be used for smoking. Each room is decorated in colonial style and is named after a famous person from South Carolina and a history of what he did. We did receive the phone call from guest services they had a gift of $100.00 in food and tour vouchers for but we held out for $150.00. We actually came across body snatchers for another TS presentation for $100.00 in tours. We scored $250.00 in free tours and local restaurants meals for 3 hours of our time. We were then hit by vacation clubs who were giving away from $100.00 to $150.00 for an hour’s time. One was cash the other was for tours or food. Once again we scored $250.00 that was used in local restaurants and taking tours of Charleston. Each day and night we would walk the marketplace as the vendors are never the same and also change from days to nights. We loved how safe you feel walking around the town. The local restaurants are nice, some better then others. Go to the ones on lower Market or East Bay for the best. We ventured out of town south to the Tea Plantation and Angel Oak. What a tree to see. We made it up to Mount Pleasant and Isle of Palms. We were in Charleston August 17 thru 23 and I expected it to be hot and humid. We were there when a hurricane was down in Florida and it was over cast the entire week. It took over 18 months to trade into Charleston with RCI. Never anything available. I had a friend who could see it available with her Cape Cod unit but not my Hawaii unit. After 4 calls on the same day with nothing available I got them to see if it was available with her unit and it was magically available. I told them use my Hawaii week and this would become the last trade I would ever make thru RCI. I would have rated this 5 stars but with select amenities available I could not go higher. I am not much for returning to the same place I have vacationed before but this is truly a place I would go back to again.

We stayed here in September 2007...Though rated RCI Hospitality (below Silver Crown), it is in a great location in historic Charlestown. Our main concern was with air circulation in the unit we occupied, that is, the windows are sealed shut and the AC filter was missing. Needless to say the air was stale and with a slight odor. Also, it is the first of the many locations we have visited over the years to charge $12./night to park a car. Dave Carey

We are owners at Church St Inn, and have been since 1998. We have gone through many changes at the Inn since we 1st bought our timeshare. We are delighted that Festiva has owned it for the past several years!! We no longer worry about our investment. Festiva has done a lot to upgrade the facility and continues to do so. This is a WONDERFUL location to be in while enjoying the wonders of Charleston, SC. Everything is just outside the front door and a few blocks one way or the other. We just got back this evening from a too-good-to-be-true stay in Charleston! The room was more than adequate for the 2 of us; very comfortable. Yes, it needed some updating--kitchen cabinets ill fitting, trouble w/the DVD player, the unit could use a coat of paint--BUT it was fine; clean, well lit, comfortable furniture lots of windows and a balcony that overlooked The "Market Street", small kitchen(no one cooks in Charleston!!!! the restaurants and food are just TOO GOOD) we just used it for snacks, cold drinks and breakfast foods and it was perfect for that. The staff were more than friendly and helpful, the maid service was great. All we had to do was pull up to the curb and our car was unloaded and parked for us, we were given a monthly parking pass so IF we wanted to use our car-no problem; otherwise the car was in a safe place and we were free of it (there is a daily parking fee-but no matter where you stay in Charleston you will pay for parking, one way or the other). To properly see and take in Charleston one must be on foot! And there is no better starting place than the Church St Inn!!!!!

Due to the location, I rated this resort a 4. It's right in the middle of everything and directly across the street from The City Market and surrounded by restaurants, artist studios and shops.

The one bedroom unit's living room/dining room is very small. The kitchen was a one butt kitchen, but who cooks in Charleston? All of the appliances were full size and very nice quality except for the coffee maker (very poor quality). The bathroom downstairs had a toilet and vanity and was adequate. The sleeper sofa was past needing replacement. The TV downstairs was in a beautiful enclosed credenza.

The loft bedroom upstairs was spacious with a beautiful 4 poster king bed (very high) with a love seat nearby for reading and sitting and a dresser with a TV. The upstairs bathroom and closet was very spacious.

Four adults in this unit would be very crowded. It was only two of us and I can't imagine 4 people staying in the one bedroom units.

The unit we stayed in could have used some refurbishment, especially the sofa. The bathrooms could have used some some work with some of the wallpaper peeling off and the floors needed re-doing, although the unit itself was clean.

All in all I would recommend Church St. Inn mainly for the excellent location.

Well, what can I say? It's a dump. Not to look at but to smell. Don't get the room close to the dumpsters. The rot of garbage stench will leak constantly into your room. You can almost see the steam coming in the windows.

Is the front desk helpful? Not when they're full. You would also think this type of building would have good sound insulation from adjacent room. Not this one. It's amazing how late some people stay up and do whatever they do.

We have stayed here many many times since we own here and live in town now but unfortunately not downtown. The location is PERFECT! Quiet Luxury but in the middle of all the action downtown. Front Desk staff - THE BEST!

These charming townhouses are a home away from home. They also give us the chance to see what it would be like to live downtown in Charleston within walking distance to it all. Most of us will never get that - unless you stay here. Count yourself lucky to trade in here it is not easy to do so.

Most of the townhouses we have been in have already been redecorated top to bottom but there are a few that have not been done yet. So, just ask for one of the them is available. (I noticed comment from a recent renter)

So bring your walking shoes and prepare to be amazed that there is still any southern charm AND manners left in this world and Enjoy!

We liked the location and found the front desk to be very helpful. The rooms, however, are showing signs of wear and tear.

Interval International rates 5 stars. Gracious, southern ambience with up-to-date remodel. Located in Historic District, close to restaurants and venues of Spoleto Festival. Couldn't be a better place to enjoy the arts.

The Church Street Inn has 31 units, both 1 and 2 bedrooms. They are all townhouses, with registration on the ground level and the interior entrances on the second floor of the brick building. Some face the lovely brick courtyard and others face the old market, which runs 3 blocks.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom unit. The living room, kitchen and a half bath were on the first level and the bedroom was on the next level with a full bath. All units had been recently refurbished, so the unit was in sparkling brand new condition. All furniture and appliances looked brand new. The only complaint I had was the lack of a television in the bedroom, as I like to watch the late night news in bed. I was able to use my laptop as the unit had an analog telephone line.

All staff, from the front desk manager to housekeeping were all friendly and handled questions and requests immediately. Although the Church Street Inn was marketing its program, we were not approached about going through a presentation, which we truly appreciated. We spoke to the sales staff everyday about recommendations for restaurants or other activities, so it gave them ample opportunity to try to push their program, but they were respectful of our vacation time.

There are no organized activities, recreation facility, pool or laundry. However, there is no need for on-site activities as the timeshare is in the middle of the historic downtown district, and activities surround the timeshare. Restaurants, historic sites, museums, shops, carriage rides, & walking tours were as close as next door. A 24-hour full service grocery store is about a 10 minute walk. The area is so compact that walking is ideal. This is a wonderful trip for those wishing to immerse themselves in Revolutionary to Civil War history. The homes and gardens in the area are worth the walks...they are incredibly beautiful!

The written descriptions accurately desribed the timeshare. I would highly recommend this resort. If we stay in Charleston again, it would be at the Church Street Inn.
