This resort was entirely re-built after the hurricanes of 2005. Everything is new from the "studs" out! Well maintained, you can tell the staff takes pride in their jobs. We loved watching the sunrise and the waves after dark!

just visited last week of May. wonderful experience. Very good to know ALL units are oceanfront!! Second floor up has a balcony. First floor is ground with unti 101 and 102 facing the pool and the ocean. We were 102. Easy in/out though being on the 1st floor, no waiting for elevator, easy to carry out beach gear, and yes you can see the ocean although not the beach itself from this view. The others on the first floor are not as fortunate as they face the parking lot and the ocean but cars can park right up to their chairs. Our unit number was assigned at reservation so we knew where we were going to be before we even arrived. Plenty of parking but no assigned spots.

Units are a good size. Both BRs had attached full baths, one with spa tub with sep shower. Our kitchen was full kitchen and tons of dishes. Even though this was sleep 6, we had dishes for 8 or 10. Sofa sleeper was pretty good. We used the unit for 3 of us as if it had 3 bedrooms. Lots of towels including beach towels. Ethernet cable in unit so you can have internet for free. TV in each room with one DVD player and one VCR player.

Pool was wonderful at 8 feet deep and 4 feet in the shallow end. Only disappointment was that what I thought was a hot tub was reallly a kiddie pool. But not disappointing enough to change my opinion. Beach chair and umbrella vendor a couple buildings down on the north (right if you are facing the resort from the beach, left if looking at the ocean) of the resort. We arranged a deal for a week and every morning the setup for two would be ready and waiting by about 0900. It was nice that former guests left boogie boards, beach chairs, buckets for kids etc. in a common area, and I did likewise leaving behind my store-bought 3rd chair.

The resort has a viewing deck on the top (6th floor) that was very nice in the evening. A few organized activities, a game room, computer area with printer so you can confirm and print boarding pass, an excercise room and coin laundry facilities (not in unit--takes about $2 ea w/d). There is a full towel exchange Tues and Thurs and they don't ask you....don't even want you... to strip the beds at check-out.! Everyone was pleasant and there is security walking around every evening.

This resort is great- completely renovated with top-of-the line furniture (very comfortable beds and sofa) and bathroom fixtures. We just stayed for a week here recently and enjoyed it so much- I wish we had longer to stay. The staff were very friendly and knowledgable with directions to locations of everything around the Daytona Beach area.

Just bought a week at the Catalina Beach Club. The place was closed for two years as they Completely rebulit the place. This is a Brand New resort now and will be re-opening sometime in June 2007. Visit their web at www.catalinadaytonaresort.com tosee all the pictures from the re- construction to completion. Staff has been extremely friendly and helpful by phone. Iwill be down to check out the place in a few weeks and I will post then.

I have stayed here 3 times thru rci and love it . It's clean, has all you need and the staff is very nice.

my parents and I own 3 different units here for 15 years and find everything about this resort as 5-star. The staff and all the amenities of this resort is second to none.

The beaches and the area are great! The staff was very helpful, knowledgeable about the area, and friendly.

Our unit, a single bedroom, was rather small. It has a full size versus a queen size bed. The 3 drawer dresser would not hold a single suitcase's contents. The kitchen did not contain a conventional oven (no baked potatoes, or morning muffins).

The units are not soundproof. Conversations outside the unit can easily be heard from within. So the enjoyment of your stay may be strongly influenced by your neighbors!

But... it’s on the beach! What more could you ask for?

(51)Christmas week is great! Close to Disney, Universal, etc., but on the beach.

Family atmosphere, clean, professional staff. Great heated outdoor pool, workout facilities, nautical themed.

You can stay at the beach and just relax or go to the track and watch cart racing, or a hundred other things.
