The Surf Club Oceanfront Hotel Reviews & Ratings

We've stayed at The Surf Club many times over the last twelve years. It is essentially a made- over hotel with small units (pull-down beds and dormitory-sized refrigerators,) but it earns at least three stars due to it's location! It is literally on the Beach and within walking distance to several restaurants, small shops, good "watering holes". The night life is great in Summer season and it can get a little loud at times from wandering "minstrels". Rooms need continual re-freshening due to popularity, but if you want a place close to the beach and don't mind steps, check it out.

My wife and I actually prefer the Winter season weekend getaways here as there is plenty to do up in Rehoboth Beach (one mile to the north)with excellent dining spots and great shopping.

Great location right on the beach and extremely convenient to Rehoboth and Dewey restaurants, bars and shops. However, this isn't your typical timeshare; all rooms are studio hotel type units (some are larger than others), and the ownership structure is not just for one week annually but for 12 weeks per year (one week each month). Basically, there are 4 owners for each unit, (one for each week of each month). As a result of the ownership structure, these units rarely become available during prime summer weeks, since that is the time that the owners use them.
