Per the owner: We have been coming to Aruba to this resort even before it became a timeshare, called Americana. We stayed here with the exception of 1 week that we stayed at Marriott Resort (were very disappointed). Additionally we traveled to a lot of Caribbean Islands & Mexico before and also were not impressed. Aruba is the friendliest, cleanest and safest Island. We have been coming to Barcelo for over 20 years, we befriended so many interesting, wonderful people. They became part of us, so we started to come practically at the same time to see people that we just love. Steve, a Vietnam veteran, could listen to his stories forever or about the book that he wrote. During wintertime a lot of people stay there for 2-3 month, so you become part of them. I love the activities the resort provides and the food! Food is good, really very good; selection or dietary sense is very good. I even complimented the chief for the very moderate salt in food. Almost forgot about location, location, location! It's the best.

    Palm Beach, Aruba

Overlooking the gorgeous Caribbean Sea on the expansive sands of Palm Beach rests the Barceló Aruba, formerly the Occidental Grand Aruba. Every bit your dream Caribbean retreat, Barceló Aruba boasts plenty of amenities such as a rock garden island sits in the middle of a lagoon style pool that includes a swim up bar and hot tubs fed by rock waterfalls. The on-site casino opens at noon with a variety of games to enjoy, or enjoy the sun with some active fun on the tennis courts. End the day by taking in a nightly music and dance show, or dance to karaoke disco music or the live DJ. Parents with children ten and under will make good use of the Kids Club, with age-appropriate supervised activities. Finally, five restaurants offer plenty of choices when hunger starts to hit.

The Barceló Aruba offers a variety of accommodations, from studio units to lavish three-bedroom suites. Studio units sleep from two to four guests. One- bedroom suites accommodate four, two-bedrooms sleep six to eight guests and finally, three-bedroom units are capable of sleeping from six to ten guests, ideal for larger families or a vacation with friends. Air-conditioning is supplemented by ceiling fans. and bathrooms include a shower/tub combination, complimentary toiletries and hair dryer. Some units include kitchen facilities with microwaves.

The Barceló Aruba is located in the center of beautiful, picturesque Palm Beach. Many shallow shipwrecks, such as the Antilla and Pedernalis, are waiting to be explored while parasailing, banana-boating, waterskiing, snorkeling, sailing, and fishing are make for additional activities for the adventurous. Landlubbers can go mountain biking, horseback riding and bird watching. For a brand new perspective, get a bird's eye view by taking a helicopter or airplane sightseeing tour.
