    Per the owner:

We were warmly welcomed by the staff at The Rushes when we first met them in 1999. As we were discussing what the many amenities The Rushes offered, we were randomly joined by several owners who were all too willing to share their stories. The main theme was that The Rushes was like a large family, many had been owners for 15-20 years, and that many friendships had been built over the years with other owners. It just felt comfortable!

The amount of beach and water equipment available for use (for free) was impressive - catamarans, rowboats, paddle boats, canoes, kayaks. Unbelievable, and again no charge to use them. The units themselves were well maintained, with a huge stone fireplace in each unit, and more than enough firewood (again no extra charge) to last for your stay.

Lastly, the adjoining 100 acre Rushes Wilderness Preserve was a place of incredible beauty and peace. Many hiking trails that again were well maintained and easily navigable. I can't say enough about the entire experience at The Rushes!

    Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin

Located alongside the 1,000 acre Kangaroo Lake in beautiful Door County, The Rushes offer incredible accommodations as well as a location that's a haven for those who are drawn to the outdoors. Enjoy 2,800 feet of sand beach and plenty of waterfront amenities, including sailboats, canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, paddle boards and fishing boats. You're also welcome to take advantage of a year-round recreation center, indoor pool, whirlpool, steam room, exercise room, as well as outdoor tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, shuffleboard, a putting green and a children’s play area.

Each tastefully decorated townhouse provides over 1,400 square feet of space with a cozy fieldstone fireplace (with firewood!), master bedroom suite, private sundeck with gas grill, guest bedroom and a completely furnished kitchen and linen area. For that extra home-like comfort and convenience, each unit also contains a washer/dryer and attached garage.

In addition to Kangaroo Lake right at your doorstep, one hundred acres of scenic woodland trails surround the property for walking and jogging. During the winter months, guests will delight in ice-skating and snowshoeing, as well as four miles of groomed cross-country ski trails onsite. For a change of pace, check out the local Cana Island Lighthouse, built in 1870. Or, spend a day in town scoping out the local art galleries, unique gift shops or wineries.
