Hotel de la Monnaie is right at the edge of the French Quarter within walking distance of many world famous restaurants, shopping, Jackson Square, Cafe du Monde; and a block from the exciting Frenchmen music corridor with hot jazz and cool blues. Access to the Riverfront streetcar is only a block away, providing rail service to the aquarium, Harrah's casino, New Orleans' convention center, Canal Street and the Garden District. Parking is free on a space available, first-come basis. The hotel has a 2nd floor courtyard with tables and chairs and it faces the old mint; now a museum. Tripadvisor gives it a 4 star rating.
In 36 years that we've owned the timeshare, we have visited the resort many times. We've also deposited the unit with one of the exchange companies for accommodations at other timeshares in South Carolina, Florida and Hawaii.

When you think of New Orleans and the French Quarter, you're also thinking of Hotel de la Monnaie. Your accommodations are situated at the edge of the French Quarter, where you'll find history, food, art, incomparable jazz, fun night spots, carriage rides, and riverboat cruises on the Mississippi River. Famous Bourbon Street and the riverfront are both a short walk from the resort. The resort also features a doctor on-call, room service and daily maid service, health club, and babysitting services. You don't need a car in this area. If you don't choose to walk, the Riverfront Streetcar runs the entire length of the French Quarter. There is so much to see and do here, you will want to extend your stay!
