View types at Marriott's Surfwatch do not refer to the unit view, but rather proximity to the ocean. Courtyard and Garden views will not offer any visible ocean, while Ocean Vista views may or may not have a view of the ocean.
Units with view category “Close to Beach” are located in the Oceanfront/Ocean Dunes building. Units in the Ocean Dunes building may have a view to the ocean. Higher level units will have a view while lower level units may have obstructed view. Ocean Marsh and Tide Mark buildings are considered Oceanside Buildings with a “Courtyard View”. Sea Cove and Sea Dunes buildings will have a Garden view. Units located in the back of The Ocean Marsh building will also have a Garden View.

Per the owner:
My husband and I eagerly bought a week at Marriott SurfWatch even before construction was completed. We loved the location of the building we bought into, which is the only one that is directly oceanfront. It is separated from the beach only by lovely dunes, which are often visited by egrets and other shore birds. The wooden walkway takes pedestrians or carts down to the pool, cabanas, cafe, and the beach. The beach features include hard packed sand, which is great for walking or bike riding any time of the year. Most days, we see dolphins swimming not far from shore. Walking to the right takes you to a small inlet, which is loaded with shorebirds who we often see catching small fish.
The villa itself has three full bedrooms and is spacious enough for 8 or more. The kitchen is well equipped and there are gourmet grocery stores and exceptional fish markets nearby. The deck has a table and chairs and is the place to be for lunch or afternoon drinks on a sunny day (which is nearly everyday) regardless of the temperature. The SurfWatch staff are friendly, helpful, and eager to please. As one example, they picked up a Sunday New York Times for us even though they do not routinely stock that paper. The location on Hilton Head Island is perfect. Easy to access from entering the Island and a short drive away from many highly regarded restaurants and top rated golf courses. Overall, this is a dream purchase for anyone who likes to vacation with family or friends or indulge in a spacious villa no matter with whom.
