    Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Guests staying at the Silver Seas are set to enjoy all the comforts of home just steps from the world-renowned Fort Lauderdale Beach! Here, you can immerse yourself in the cool water of the resort's swimming pool while watching the rhythmic waves of the Atlantic, or lay out a blanket or beach chair and hit the surf just a walk away. Shuffleboard courts, a sun deck and barbecue grills offer even more ways to enjoy the perfect Florida sunshine while an onsite convenience store ensures no vacation essential goes forgotten.

The decor of Silver Seas blends the essence of laid-back Florida with an upscale and modern vibe, as well as plenty of amenities designed to enhance your stay. All units have fully equipped kitchens with full size refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, toasters, and a complete set of cookware, as well as a dining area and living area outfitted with sleeper sofa and TV.

Fort Lauderdale is a beloved vacation spot for good reason - truly, this Atlantic city boasts a bit of everything. For a family adventure, take the Jungle Queen Sight-Seeing Cruise, a three-hour trip down the New River. Other area attractions include the Buehler Planetarium, the Museum of Discovery and Science, the IMAX Theatre, Swimming Hall of Fame and the Sawgrass Mills Mall, the largest outlet mall. Of course, the beach is prime for sunning, swimming and enjoying a host of water sports. As the sun sets, lose yourself in Fort Lauderdale's much-lauded nightlife

COSIDERING PURCHASEING A UNIT I DROPPED IN TO ASK ABOUT AVAILABILITY AND MET WITH THE MANAGER , BILLY-JOE OR BOBBY-SUE. ACTUALLY I'VE FORGOTTEN WHICH AS I'M NOT HANDY WITH THOSE KINDS OF NAMES. BUT , I'LL NEVER FORGET HER , SHE WAS SITTING DOWN, DOING NOTHING AND IMEDIATLEY WENT ON A RANT ABOUT HOW OVERWORKED SHE WAS AND LAMENTED ABOUT THE TRIALS HER WORK ENTAILED. SHE LET ME LOOK AT A UNIT WHICH WAS FAIR BUT SUPER DATED I.E. DON JOHNSON/1980'SISH. BUT, SINCE I KNEW THE AREA WELL I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GOOD DEAL IF THE PRICE WAS RIGHT. SHE SAID SHE KNEW OF SOME WEEKS FOR SALE AND WOULD GET BACK TO ME . THIS NEVER HAPPENED. I WENT BACK AND AGAIN SHE WAS SITTING DOING NOTHING AND STRAIGHT AWAY SHE WENT INTO HER OH-WO-IS- ME MODE ABOUT BEING OVERWORKED AND AGAIN PROMISED A FOLLOW-UP, WHICH AGAIN DIDN'T HAPPEN.THUS I GAVE UP ON IT . I WOULD GIVE THE LOCATION 5 STARS, THE RESORT 1.5 STARS AND THE MANAGEMENT NONE.

We just came back from a week at the Silver Seas. Honestly other than the fact that we had to wait quite a bit past check on time , the rest of the week was great. The staff were so friendly and accommodating . We were there with our granddaughters (14&15 ) . Great location. Everything in walking distance. I would definitely go back again.

5/05: Taxi temp relocated. Discount temp not available. Silver Seas now looks so tiny next to the giant St Regis Hotel. PM Beach shading may be an issue. Added: 8/04: FYI= The Ft Laud Broward Cty water taxi has promised all Broward T/S users an excellent discount on the www.watertaxi.com usage, provided you follow these steps. Go to the water taxi base next to the Swimming Hall of Fame (on A1A S). Have photo ID and II, RCI or other T/S CONFIRMATION in hand. M to F to 5 PM. Buy as many tixs as you need. $5.00 off the weekly for $15.00. Also. %age off the 3 day. EVERY T/S in this section of Redweek Lists (except Weston), you can WALK to the taxi stop. Check it out. Excellent value. May not have to move car for the week.

Excellent choice in an excellent area. Converted from an apartment hotel to T/S use in 1979, current management has kept both the enterior and exterior as very good to excellent.

One needs to realize this is not the MAR Beach Place or the St Regis next door. But even this 'older lady' eschews some positives the others can't match....like street level parking, and easy access to the beach. (Across A1A).

We viewed a sleep 6 one bed one bath. The rooms were clean and in excellent shape. Furniture a bit worn. Two Queen Sofas will sleep four. (Wicker type furnishings)

View of ocean (but much better in the 2 bed 2 bath units.) View may change when the St Regis highrise Hotel (Sheraton) is completed. Elevator equipped (which was just replaced.)

Floors were Mexican hard tile in all areas except the bedroom-which had carpet (and according to staff- gets killed with the sand). They expect next phase of refurb to include window treatments to include new wooden blinds. Beds are innerspring (not foam that I saw).

Small kitchen with small electric 4 burner & oven stove, 15 or 18 cubic ft refridge. Bath is a full sized, enlogated toilet, full sized bathtub with shower.

This RCI RID resort also boasts the Superior Small Lodging seal (SLL). A small coffee shop (with other things) boasts Barnies Coffees & Teas (take that Marriott Starbucks ;)).

Laundry is in out building and has a fee of $1.00 wash & $1.00 dry. They supply detergents. Management has resale weeks, and if purchased via management, you will get a bonus week. Maint is approx $464 a week, not including taxes.

Beach is across N bound A1A with a light, you can walk to the Marriott Beach Place complex (1/2 block), the new St. Regis hotel (right across street), Shulas Steaks in the Sheraton ($$$$), The CasaBlanca resturant(check for ent card for dinner- lunch has a 1 free with one special).

Elbo Room on Las Olas is about 3 blocks S. H2O- a famous resturant in the Ft Lauderdale Beach Hotel is gone, and the Hotel closed last week to make way for another high rise:(.

A brand new Publix (supermarket) opened just off Las Olas. Take Las Olas to what appears its end (actually- riverwalk complex is in the way). Turn LEFT and drive over bridge. Note Publix on the corner on right on block up. TUrn into multilevel parking garage, and let people mover sidewalks take you to the store (Called Las Olas Publix).

If you stay at MAR Beach Place or the Merriweather (next to the Silver Seas), much of the area info is identical.

I stayed at this hotel for a week last year and i'm going back this february i loved it!it was beautiful! You could walk to the beach and to a cafe and there was a beautiful pool right out front which u could see the beach from there was a washing machine and drier,u could choose from hundreds of movies that u could rent from the front desk no charge.they supplied you with towels for the pool everytime you went in.There was even a tanning deck!!!!!

As soon as i got there i felt welcome, there was a guide in my room and it told of all the things you could do in the area, once a week there was a free bbq that everyone was welcome to.

the rooms were beautiful and very clean it was really amazing!if i could choose ne where to stay i would choose silver seas hands down it was wonderful.
