    Marble Hill, Georgia

Located just an hour from Atlanta, Petit Crest Villas at Big Canoe is an escape to a rustic setting of hills, woods, and mountain streams. Marble Hill is a mountainous area with rough terrain. Recreational choices include canoeing and paddleboating from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Explore Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park and the Civil War battlefields of Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga. The pool is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Area restaurants have limited hours after the summer. Enjoy fine dining in the surrounding area.

Parking at your door; minimal steps; spacious; two full bathrooms; great lakefront activities; two small decks; you get your own house-no noise from the next condo.

Best attractions or restaurants nearby. We enjoyed shopping in Canton; Nitro Paintball in Canton (Sat and Sun only); Whitewater Rafting in Clayton; Carmike Movies in Canton; movies at Carmike Theaters in Canton, hiking trails on site were great and scenic. This is the ideal vacation for you if you love being in the mountains and love getting out in nature. If you only like the beach or big cities, this is likely not the right place for you. This resort gives you ample opportunities to enjoy hiking, canoeing, and swimming. The mountains are beautiful. The decks are surrounded by trees and do not include tables, so they were not that enjoyable to sit on.

With any mountain vacation, you must be prepared to drive some distance to any activities and this place is no different. It is two miles from the entrance and it is twisty and turning. Canton offers a lot of choices for dining and entertainment without having to go all the way to Atlanta. Atlanta of course offers just about anything you might be interested in. The lakefront is very nice with the canoes; manmade rockslide, which is actually a spillway or overflow for the lake; beach volleyball and of course the pool, which is quite large.

The actual villa is very acceptable. The main room is a little larger than the pictures. The bathrooms are not fancy, but are decent sized and there are two full ones. The kitchen is small, but has all the necessities. The full size, six seat table is nice. The living room is a comfortable size for up to five people. The tvs are old, but they get the job done. If you have kids with an xbox, I strongly suggest bringing a small flat screen for the bedroom or loft, since the only one in the unit that the xbox was able to be connected to was in the living room.

We also visited Amicolola Falls and enjoyed a nice buffet lunch there at the Lodge and neat gift shop. Dawsonville is about 25 miles away and has the North Georgia Premiere Outlet Mall. We enjoyed the Black Bear Pub at the Clubhouse on site. Gibbs Garden is a must - 220 acres of beauty. Breakfast cinnamon roll & lunch of chicken salad on cranberry walnut bread from Mary's Bread Basket not to be missed. Took the Blue Ridge railroad trip to the boarder of GA/TN and had delicious ice cream from C-Bolts in Blue Ridge (42 flavors and best price). Other local activities include an abundance of local hiking, touring a gold mine in nearby Daholonega, and a day trip to Fort Ogelthorpe. The Foothills IGA grocery was convenient and reasonable and the villa had all the necessary appliances & kitchen items.
