This resort is beautifully located for experiencing great beaches and entertainment. Located just north of Daytona Beach with plenty of fine eating places, museums and out door activities. Plenty of onsite entertainment as well. E. J. Rabe

We just stayed at Plantation Island last week. The staff was friendly, but the resort is a little old, not clean, and not very comfortable. I gave two stars instead of 1 because of the good location and the friendly staff.

The rooms are very small which led to very fussy 1 and 4 year old kids. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in with absolutely zero back support. The fold-out couch was very bad, as most are.

Our 16 month old was covered in bug bites after the first night. We took him to the ER and they said he had over 100 flea bites from the room. The manager had the room sprayed for bugs, and he didn't receive any more bites.

We called ahead and asked for a crib, but they said they only had the really old, "dangerous" kind of crib...so we brought our own pack-and-play.

The pools were dirty - my 4 year old even noticed how dirty the kids pool was. The hot tubs were absolutely disgusting - we did NOT go into that brown, dirty water.

We won't be going back to this resort!

Nice family resort with a very friendly and attentive staff. Right on the beach, on the north and quieter side of the Daytona area. Has two pools, several spas and a wonderful sun deck with lounges. A full-time activities director keeps things moving and is great in getting to know others at the resort. A very warm atmosphere and a nice resort.
