This is a very nice resort in a great location. The units are very large and well equipped. The deck overlooks a creek that runs through the golf course so there is abundant wildlife to observe. The two free bicycles is a bonus and the bike trails throughout the Plantation and all of the island are truly wonderful. The choices for golf are almost endless and there are many good restaurants in the area. This location is convenient to everything on Hilton Head including the beach. I look forward to returning to this resort in the future and would highly recommend it.

Our family stayed in June 2008. We had been to Hilton Head one time before so were familiar with the area. Southwind is well maintained, very clean, and had a nice variety of activities. We especially liked having a pool for groupings of condos. This prevented the pool from becoming overcrowded. The two bikes with each condo was a wonderful added bonus. The villa was very spacious, decorated beautifully, and well stocked with kitchen supplies. We look forward to returning here again.

We stayed here in April of 2007. Nice and large units. Finding the check-in office in the dark is very difficult as it is at another resort and not well marked. However, once we arrived at our unit we were very happy. There was an alligator in the pond our unit overlooked and at times he could be very boring and at other times entertaining. Hilton Head is one of the nicest places I have been on the East Coast. Be sure to take a day trip to Charleston especially if you like to history. Once per year there is a parade of homes in Charleston, while it is very expensive, it is well worth it.
