We reserved a studio unit for 6 nights and were given a small bedroom with a lockout door to a larger unit. Couldn't watch tv without lying on bed which was a problem when we were getting dressed up to go out at night. Because we didn't stay 7 nights we got no housekeeping services, no fresh bathroom towels and no garbage removed which became overflowing. Pools very crowded, out of beach towels by 8:30AM, to use beach with two lounge chairs and an umbrella costs $62 per day. If beach towels not returned at days end another $10 charge per day. If your have a rental car you will be charged $24 plus tax per day to park it at the resort. Food and beverage prices were exorbitant, much better and cheaper to take a short walk or trolley ride to Lewers Ave for reasonable food and drink. Resort was nice to look at and walk through otherwise a money pit.

      Best Family resort on Oahu

Keep in mind when reading reviews for HHV that there are actually three separate properties (soon to be four) - the Lagoon Tower, Kalia Suites, and the Grand Waikikian - each with different locations, facilities, layouts, and furnishings. The Kalia Suites is farthest from the beach but houses the spa and fitness center, the Grand Waikikian is newest, and the Lagoon Tower is closest to the beach and oldest...but is in the midst of a complete renovation. We stayed in the Lagoon Tower.

I cannot praise this property highly enough. We LOVE that it is right on the beach, that it is an easy walk to the rest of Waikiki in one direction and Ala Moana in the other, that 90% of what we want to do on Oahu is less than a 20 minute drive away, and that the suites themselves are large and comfortable with full kitchens and with washer/dryers on each floor. And that most of the rooms have great views of the ocean and Diamond Head or the harbor and the pool next to the Lagoon tower has awesome waterslides and hot pools. And that there is a Lapperts downstairs offering amazing Kona coffee starting at 5:30 (for those of us with jet lag) and Hawaiian ice cream all day. And that Honolulu offers some of the best food we've ever eaten anywhere in the world thanks to the fusion of Asian, Polynesian, and European heritage and ingredients but when we are just too exhausted to do anything else we can just go down and eat at one of the many HHV restaurants.

We've been bringing our kids and parents to the HHV every other year for a decade now. This year for the first time we splurged and got one of the few oceanfront (not just oceanview) rooms at the Lagoon Tower - and it was completely worth it. Are there nicer places to stay in Waikiki if you are just a couple - absolutely. But once you have kids (and/or parents) with whom you want to stay there is simply no place better.

      Learn to ask, dear reviewer.

I'm sure if you asked for assistance at the desk, they would find the beach towels you needed. You can ALWAYS ask for fresh towels and to have trash removed. Your owner should have advised you of parking charges, and parking is also available across the street at the Hale Koa lot. In general, ask questions from your owner, who should have already stayed at this location. Don't get mad just because you did not think to ask for help.

Our family has been staying at this resort for our family reunion for the past 10+ years! We love the location of Hilton Hawaiian Village and Lagoon Tower. Lagoon Tower is closest ttower o the pool with the slides. It also has great views of the lagoon. and ocean. The amenities, restaurants, activities and various pools at this resort is amazing!

The oceanviews units have full kitchens, regular sized refrigerators, microwave ovens, multiple TVs, cooking utensils, plates, glasses and eating utensils.

Absolutely my favorite location to stay in Waikiki. These Ocean Front units are the most incredible views and the 2 BR has tons of space with two large patio's. I've stayed at many locations along Waikiki, but Ocean Front at Lagoon Tower takes the cake!

Stayed at this resort for the first time last year during the NFL Pro Bowl in a 3 Bedroom Penthouse Unit. It was the most unbelievable room I have ever stayed in. The views were spectacular The wrap around balcony was awesome Floor to ceiling widows offer breathtaking views of the ocean and lagoon. I am going back this year, can't wait. If you need anything while at the Resort just ask they are more than willing to do what it takes to make you comfortable. We never had a problem getting towels. We got a mid week cleaning. No need to rent a car, lots to do within walking distance. Folks lets face it this is a mega resort, stuff is over priced but if you venture out and use this as your base you will not be disappointed.
