I especially love the Grand Islander as its the closest hotel to the main shopping and dining area in Waikiki. We always enjoy the walk back across the park after dinner, shopping or wherever we've been.

The Grand Islander is one of the best options inside Hilton Hawaiian Village (HHV) if you are traveling with family and want both space and resort amenities.

You get a true condo-style unit (full kitchen, washer/dryer, separate bedrooms, living area) plus full access to everything inside HHV: Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon, multiple pools, beach access, restaurants, shops, and the Friday night fireworks. The lagoon is especially great for families with kids because it is calm, shallow, and much easier than open ocean swimming.

Everything you need is right downstairs: ABC Store for snacks, drinks, sunscreen, and quick essentials, plus multiple on-site restaurants ranging from casual grab-and-go to sit-down dining. There is even an ice cream shop on the property, which makes it easy to treat the kids after a beach or pool day.

Unlike standard Waikiki hotel rooms, the units here are spacious and comfortable for longer stays. Having a kitchen makes breakfast and quick meals easy, which helps offset Waikiki dining costs. The location allows easy access to the main shopping areas in Waikiki, including Royal Hawaiian Center and International Market Place, all within walking distance or a short rideshare or taxi ride.

Ideal for family trips (children, parents, grandparents), or anyone who wants lagoon + beach + resort amenities without giving up condo comfort.

I’ve stayed at several Hilton Grand Vacations properties, but The Grand Islander is truly my favorite. It combines everything I love about a resort — luxury, location, and convenience — with the comfort of home. The suites are modern, beautifully designed, and thoughtfully equipped. I especially love having a full kitchen and washer/dryer in the unit — it makes a weeklong stay so easy and stress-free.

The Grand Islander is the best of both worlds: the energy of Waikiki and the tranquility of your own modern suite. Every time I stay here, I leave already planning my next visit.
