I’ve stayed at Inn at the Opera previously and had a great experience. The location is excellent — very walkable with easy access to Union Square, cable cars, dining, and theaters. The resort was clean, well-maintained, and quiet, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The units are comfortable and well-suited for a stay in San Francisco. I would happily stay here again.

You cannot beat this location if you are attending an event at the Opera House. We live on the central California Coast and get mini seasons for the Ballet and Opera every year and this is always our top choice. The staff is wonderful and the homemade cookies at checkin are a treat. The rooms are quaint and decorated in the opera theme. Beds are comfortable but certain rooms you will have some street noise. The rooms have a mini fridge and microwave as well as some dishes and wineglasses. Another great plus is the complimentary breakfast every morning...really impressive. And I cannot wrap up this review without recommending the onsite restaurant...Plaj. This is an upscale restaurant with delicious Scandinavian food. We always make a reservation at this restaurant when we stay here...it is so good. Totally recommend!

Beautiful, quaint historic building, right near the Opera. Easy access to all the Bay Area attractions. Hospitality seems to be their motto and the free continental breakfast is wonderful.

We stayed here for 3 nights oct 2008. We found it to be absolutely gorgeous & staff very friendly & helpful. The rooms very very comfortable with antique like furniture & housekeeping was done to perfection each day.

The only disadvantage was the distance from from both Fisherman's Wharf & Union Square.....although we did see the doubledecker tour bus run past the front of the hotel many times a day if you are needing to do the tour of San Francisco.

The breakfast was complimentary & dinner at night was out of this world.

      We would stay again.

Great location and attentive & knowledgable staff. Very clean. Just about the best "cold foods only" breakfasts I have ever had.

The room we had was microscopic the first night we stayed there, even by SF standards, We were moved the next day and the rest of the stay was great. Very comfortable beds.

The kitchettes are inadequate in my opinion. Very small. Not good for much more than making coffee or tea, maybe a few cold drinks, and keeping your leftover dinner cool until the next day. We like to cook one meal a day in the room to save money, and could not do that like we can at several other B&Bs in the city. If you don't cook, don't worry about it.

Did not eat any dinners at the hotel, as my Peruvian born wife prefers the very good Fina Estampa Perurian food on Van Ness, but if dinner is anything like breakfast...

Not as close to some the attactions and amenities as some B&Bs, and the rooms may be a bit smaller, but it is also more recently updated and has a better breakfast. It is also not on a steep hill like some B&Bs in the city are. Overall, highly recommended. 4.5 stars if you don't cook and 4 stars if you do.

This is a fabulous, newly renovated, San Francisco boutique hotel and timeshare. Steps away from the San Francisco Opera House and Davis Symphony Hall, two blocks from new site of Asian Art Museum, with great access to public transportation. Proximity to cultural activities means not only convenience - one rides the elevator with some famous cultural icons. A fabulous breakfast spread is included. There is a terrific restaurant and bar and good service at the desk and concierge. I love this place!
