We enjoyed the Anchorage very much. The staff was super polite and very helpful. It serves as an ideal jumping off spot to go to Key West or north to Miami. We found our stay very laid back and would stay again another time.

We stayed a week at Anchorage in mid- February. The resort is older, but is well maintained and offers splendid views.

The unit was very large with a king-sized bed, full bath and large living room. The living room has a hide-a-bed couch for extra guests. Floors are ceramic tile throughout. There is a TV in both the living room and the bedroom. There was a DVD player and VCR. Kitchen is equipped with a full-sized refrigerator, four- burner electric stove, dishwasher, blender, coffee maker and microwave. There is no garbage disposal or conventional oven. An adequate supply of kitchen items is provided so that you can cook most anything that does not require a conventional oven.

The private balcony is very large and accessible from two doors: one in the living room and one in the bedroom. It is screened to keep out bugs but the screens do not hurt the view. The view of the marina and Florida Bay is very nice and you can watch boat traffic. During our stay we saw manitees and dolphins in the waterway below. Delightful.

Jewfish Creek runs next to the resort and is a a part of the intercoastal waterway. There is also a drawbridge over the creek which is quite noisey when vehicles go over it, 24-7. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs till you get used to it. As of Feb 2007 there is a bridge being built and road construction going on next to the resort. This appears to be a big project that will continue for a long while.

The pool is medium sized, clean and warm and there is a lot of outdoor seating and pretty landscaping on the patio next to the pool. The hottub seats four, works very well and you can sit in it, look up and see the stars through the palm-tree leaves on a clear night. Heavenly. There are fish cleaning stations on the marina and also gas and charcoal grills available for guest use.

We enjoyed a pleasant stay, the room and grounds were clean and the staff was helpful and courteous. When the new bridge is built will give the resort five stars. A lot of value for the money.
