Cleanliness, facilities, and amenities abound. We used this for my sons honeymoon and they were treated excellently.

Everything was taken care of within minutes of notifying the resort. This was from needing towels at 11pm to getting Disney tickets. We used the shopping nearby and both thempark groups.

The maintenance meeting at the end was a sales upgrade pitch with no pressure from the resort. We ended up getting a discount above owners discount for the spa.

I will stay again and will recommend this resort again and again. I now have a 3-BR LO and couldn't be happier.

I have owned a 3/3 lockoff (sleeps 8-12) since 1999. I couldn't be happier with the resort or the trade out with Interval International.

The location for traveling in Florida is excellent. Easy access to the theme parks, beaches (east & west), the airports and most anything you might want to do while sightseeing in FL.

I have had my parents (65+) stay with us in the studio as well as many friends throughout the years. EVERYONE has commented on how fabulous the units are (and I have some very, very picky friends.)

The studios are amble for a couple or a couple with children, featuring a king bed + queen sleeper. Also has mini-fridge, microwave, dishes for 4, breakfast bar, whirlpool tub, and private screened in patio.

The 2 bedroom units have a "great room" which combines kitchen with breakfast bar, closet laundry with full washer & dryer, dining room seating for 6+, wet bar, leather sectionals, opening out to a screened in porch.

Master bedroom has desk area, LARGE whirlpool tub, access to porch. 2nd Bedroom has pocket doors to full bath & 2 double beds.

TVs in every room, swimming pools at almost every building (my unit has 6 within a block).

All the buildings have elevator access, our unit happens to be on the 5th floor with a great lake view.

The resort has onsite full service restaurant, Pizza Hut, Papillion Spa, etc.

We have banked and exchanged out our unit (can be one big unit or studio + 2 bedroom) and also enjoy the Getaways offered through Interval International which units are offered to rent without exchange for a fraction of the retail "street" price.

I can't say enough about Westgate. We weren't pressured into buying.

In fact, I stayed there for work-related business, booking via the Internet and was so PLEASANTLY surprised at the resort - WE ASKED THEM ABOUT BUYING! When I reserved the condo, I didn't even know it was a timeshare.

I considered putting our unit up for sale since my kids are college age now, but with the trade-out value and the Getaway deals, we are at a clear advantage to keep it.

Btw, I happen to be in the real estate business and used to develop property and build houses, therefore I am not too easily impressed or swayed.

    Westgate Lakes impressed me!

My family just got back from our vacation at Westgate Lakes. We rented the unit from an individual and were very impressed by the resorts amentities. We have 4 children and finding a hotel to accomodate us without being ontop of each other is difficult.

We rented a 2br/2ba and it was very spacious. Check-in was a breeze. I was a little concerned when I first arrived as there were long lines of people checking in. However, they had ample resources of friendly staff to minimize the wait. I have spent more time checking into a hotel that wasn't crowed than I did at this resort.

We did have to participate in a brief presentation. The Sales rep was very friendly and not real pushy. We did not buy at the time but are considering it in the next year or so (building a new home at this time). We didn't spend much time at the resort as we were on the theme park vacation this year. However, both my husband and I want to revisit for strictly a relaxing resort vacation. There are plenty of activities for all ages and the pools were conveniently located to any unit.

Oh yes, we visited another time share on our way of of town. Just wanted to compare what they had to what we stayed in. There was no comparison!!! Their prices were twice as high as Westgate and their facilities were lacking in many ways.

Very nice resort. I had a studio with a lakeside view. It was on the 1st floor so you could walk out from your patio down to the lake. I wish that the sales people weren't so pushy. Jacuzzi tub button stuck in my unit, though. I had to work to get it unstuck. Other than that, I liked my unit. It was spacious enough for the two of us, although I wouldn't try to squeeze four people into a studio.

A top notch resort!! 1. Location- right next to 1-4 and International Drive- took us 5 minutes to get to Universal Studios! We stayed in my sister-in-law's timeshare and our jaws dropped to the ground when we saw how beautiful and spacious the unit was. The kids have their own room which included their own tv and bathroom. My husband and I had a luxurious bath tub in our room and a big screen tv in the living room. Our sales representative, Jennifer was great and she made us feel right at home. We were so impressed that we bought a 2 bedroom and cant wait to go back next year.

We found this timeshare spectacular!! The rooms were spacious and the staff helpful. The screened in deck was exceptionally nice when we wanted to have cocktails outside without being bothered by the bugs. The jacuzzi tub was by far my favorite. A beautiful roman style tub complete with white pillars. Location of resort is excellent... Extremely easy access to the freeway.

2/23/03 - Date of Visit: Jan/Feb 2003 Resort Owner: Yes We visited Westgate lakes weeks 4 thru 6 in 2003. Our annual family reunion was week 5. We had guests over every week.

As far as unit & kitchen features, the only thing my wife found lacking was a rolling pin. Every unit has a King size bed, TV, tel, VCR and large bathroom with a large shower. The furnishings were either new looking or extremely well kept up. The resort's amenities are typical 5*/GC resort amenities and can been seen at Westgate Resorts homepage under the Westgate Lakes section. Too many to mention but the $2million Papillon health center is worth mentioning individually.

The 1BR (with mini-kitchen)is about 500 sq ft & the 2BR (which has a fully equipped kitchen & washer/dryer)about 1500 sq ft. The 3BR is a combo of the 1BR & 2BR (2000 sq ft)with the 4BR being a combo of two 1BR units & 1 2BR unit (2500 sq ft). We own 4BR/4BA units so you can see why when we have a family reunion being 12 to 16 people is no problem as the 4BR unit adequately & easily sleeps 16.

Our 4BR unit was clean, well furnished and the carpeting in the LR had been removed and replaced with tile (they are planning on doing this to all units). The 4BR units have a cathedral ceiling and end windows which other 2BR units do not have. The bldgs are in a perpetual upgrading system. They were painting all over the place. The maint fees see to that even though MF&Taxes are $694 for 2003.

The staff was friendly and courteous. My only complaint about the staff is more of them could be more proficient in the use of English. Many are Latinos who have a rudementary handle of the English language. They all smile and great you well.

Westgate Lakes' location is EXCELLENT. It is located geographically in the middle of the 3 main theme parks---Disney, Sea World and Universal. From our lanai in bldg 600 we viewed Disney's Magic Kingdom fireworks every night at 7pm. That was a treat for all and a reminder of how centrally located we were to everything.

As in any building ever built we encountered some minor maintenance problems. They were addressed promptly and courteously within an hour of their having been called in. When one considers there are over 20 bldgs 6 stories high with 8 units per floor making the total units there over 900+, responding and fixing maintenance problems in such a complex under 1 hour is short of phenomenal. The only really large maintenance problem we encountered was bldg 600 losing its hot water heater and not having water for 4 hours while it was being replaced.

They have 7 large outdoor heated pools with accompaning kiddie pools and hot tubs. These pools have an outdoor bar for adults and also have bathroom facilities next to the bar. There are kid and adult activities planned daily. There are 2 arcades for kids and adults alike. They hand out a weekly planner for those who wish to avail themselves of the activities. Owners (& their guests) are fed 4 continental breakfasts. It seems everybody there is an owner from the amount of people who show up for breakfast. I did not see them checking too agressively. Owners have a Bar-b-Q every Thurs noon for lunch.

Westgate Lakes is suitable for couples with and/or without kids. Some pool areas tend to be louder than others but I think that is mostly determined by when you are there and who is there at that time. Our weeks 4 & 5 were quieter than week 6 which was the Daytona 500 trials weeks leading into the Daytona 500. We had no trouble finding relaxful pools while my son & grand-son had no trouble finding one which was kid oriented.

Checking in was a breeze as well as the express check out. Delta was our CSR when we checked in. She was so helpful overall we had to buy her a box of truffle chocolates and some Gheradelli chocolate. No charge for local calls for owners. There are several freebies for owners such as use of a 2 wheel bicycle, a large water trike on the lake, 15% discount at the restaurant, etc...

I had guests over all 3 weeks and I also met many owners from other resorts. All concured the Lakes was a really well kept place and secret. My hometown guests had nothing but high praise for this place. I don't know how many times we have been thanked for having them over. They have said time and again how they enjoyed their R&R.

I have read prior reviews of the Lakes and find them to be antiquated. Of the problems mentioned in them I have failed to encounter any of them in our last three years stay there. They are presently finishing bldg 300 which will consist only of 4BR/4BA units. At the writing of this review I was told they were 1/2 sold at a going price of over $50,000 per week. Unbelievable!!!

While in Orlando we visited several other resorts. They were nice but I like where we own. Based on the enjoyment, entertainment, R&R and all we have experienced at Westgate Lakes during weeks 4, 5 & 6 of 2003 we would have to rate it a 9.5 on a scale of 10.

Very spacious rooms. We were amazed with the tub and shower in the master bedroom. HOWEVER, we love people and the people here were not lovable! After it was clear that we weren't ready to purchase a unit, we were made to walk back to our rental (after being driven over in a nice van!). Attitudes did a 180 when they saw they weren't getting anymore money out of us. It's a great property if you don't plan to talk to any of the staff!

the most beautiful experience summer 2001 except the pressure from the salesperson at the presentation. arrived with my family for sales presentation at 7AM and was not "RELEASED OR FREE TO LEAVE" until after 12:30. that dampered my spirit for that day. i was leaving the next morning so the bitter taste did not stay for long. i would like to visit again and spend my vacation at westgate again, without the sale presentation.

My family and I stayed at Westgate Lakes this past October. We were renting the unit for the week, we didn't purchase at Westgate Lakes. In fact, we thought we were renting a unit at a totally different location, similar to the one showed to us at the time of the timeshare presentation. We were led to believe that we would be staying in a ground floor unit, instead, we were assigned a unit on the 4th floor of a high rise and at a location different from the one that was showed to us. From the start there were problems. The room had worn and ripped carpeting, had not been cleaned properly, and when I tried to voice an opinion at a sales meeting, I was escorted out by security! With all the options in the Orlando area for timeshares, put Westgate at the bottom of your list! Either that, or beware of the doubletalk and promises that are made at these presentations! I am currently in the process of reporting Westgate to the Dept of Business and Professional Regulation Division of Florida land Sales.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay! I'll be going back for the fourth of July and can't wait. The property is beautifully landscaped and has activities for all ages. The kids love the Aqua Park on the lake and the heated pools throughout. I like that it's close to the theme parks and International Drive. I would recommend this resort. Have fun.
