This resort is just OK, the picture makes it look great but I have been at much nicer resorts than this place. The rooms need cleaned better, you get towels twice during the week, and there were black bugs in our room. If you like to have magaritas at the pool, they only serve non alcoholic, you can get beer or wine though. Oh and the parking garage is terrible, if you have a carrier on your car, be prepared to remove it-- it won't fit. Best thing is the ocean view, we payed alot to see that!

Amazing location on the beach with great views from the balcony. Staff is helpful and welcoming. Room is clean and is stocked with complimentary supplies such as dish soap, sponge, paper towels, etc...

Ice machine & soda machines are on every floor and snack machines are down stairs. The treadmills face the water so there is a great view when working out in the gym. The outdoor pool has nice views on each side of the building.

Parking is free but the garage is little tight going up or down the levels.

    Overall, always an enjoyable stay.

Recently stayed at Beach Quarters hotel. I was skeptical due to some of the bad reviews but it was great. The staff were so friendly, place was clean and location was great!! The only thing that was disappointing was the rooftop bar/snack bar was not open. The beds and sofa sleeper were very comfortable. I did not park in the parking garage due to reviews of the difficulty in maneuvering the garage but I used their lot across the street. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony and viewing the sunrises and enjoyed the closeness to the beach.

We also own at Ocean Beach Club but still prefer our 2 bedroom at Beach Quarters due to the resort's location and it's ammenities. We also like the south end of town because within walking distance are many great restaurants, shops and Rudee's Inlet along with a more relaxed atmosphere. The staff is knowledgable, pleasant and helpful. The use of the Turtle Cay pool is a plus. We look forward to our return next summer. The occasional military flyovers are not a problem at all. I view the flight crews heroes, men and women flyers, that are willing to sacrifice their lives for our freedom...and I salute them!

Nice unit overlooking the boardwalk and beach on the ninth floor. Wake up to beautiful Sunrises over the ocean and beach. Convenient attached parking ramp. This is the quieter end on Atlantic Ave. Kitchen facilities are adequate to prepare meals, although there are plenty of restaurants with in walking distance and the Atlantic Ave Trolley stops in front of the parking ramp. Concierge and staff are very helpful if you are new to Virginia Beach. Plenty of activities on property as well as access to Turtle Cay Resort Pools across the street

Can't beat the ocean views while sitting on your balcony! Lovely, clean resort. Staff has always been friendly. Parking garage can be a tight squeeze but if you have a larger vehicle, there is an over-flow lot that they will give you a pass to that's across the street.

Walk outside your hotel and you're right at the board walk - right at the beach! The rooftop pool is always fun at night, my kids love to swim while my husband and I have a drink and some appetizers. Bar serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as well as light food options. Watermans is right next door, delicious food. And Chics is on the other side - make sure to hit up happy hour!

Indoor pool and hot tub is nothing fancy, but it serves its purpose on a rainy day.

This resort has been totally updated as of 2012. We have owned here for 5 years, and management has addressed some of the more pressing issues. New furniture and bed linens have given the rooms an updated and more coordinated look. New kitchen and bathroom updates are completed and are very, very nice! The pipe on the beach, which is needed to dredge Rudee's Inlet, is not something BQ has any control over; nonetheless, the pipe is now almost completely buried from view so that only a small section protrudes above the sand. Management has also added more landscaping outside (front and back) and added well-maintained potted plants in the pool and tennis court areas for a very sophisticated look. The outdoor pool and bar & grill is completely remodeled and very sophisticated. Room doors, which used to slam shut, now close gently. Outside, covered hallways, used to access the rooms, are newly painted--plain but extremely practical for clients trapesing in and out with sandy feet, wet bathing suits, and the occasional bike, plus you feel the great ocean breezes and smell the salty air! Three fast elevators in a rich, dark wood get you where you want to go in a hurry. Very nice amenities!!

Housekeeping has improved considerably. Front desk staff are courteous but not always swift to correct mistakes; however, the resort manager is easily accessible by phone or email, and she stepped in to see that missing items in our kitchen were replaced.

Location of BQ is the best!! We have purchased a second, week-32 timeshare here, so our whole family can stay in comfort.

Stayed in Sept. 2012. Resort completed remodel in 2012. Units are oceanfront. Absolutely great location and a long list of available amenities. Overlooks wide beach and the boardwalk. Walked to Rudee Inlet for stand up paddleboard. Other water sports available there too. Crowds were gone but water was still warm. Nightly boardwalk concerts were over for the season but we went to the Neptune Festival wine tasting and loved it (go early, it gets crowded). Many restaurants and lots of shopping available. Went to Norfolk to see Nauticus and USS Wisconsin, well worth the short drive. This resort has a covered parking deck which is a little tight for larger vehicles. Only complaint was with the Owner's Assoc. voice messaging the wrong start time for the welcome party, but management quickly extended the get together to accommodate all who wished to attend.

Davids 1168 with his one star review is not correct. We have owned at Beachquarters for 19 years and have loved every year. Have never had a dirty room, always been very clean. The staff and maintenance personnel are always friendly, courteous and helpful. Yes, you do have to pay for the internet but it is reasonable enough. View is delightful from your room or your balcony. The pipe only runs for a short period of time and only brings sand out of the inlet. Restaurants in the area are plentiful, the outdoor pool and patio bar are above the parking garage and have a nice view and very fun to be at. The indoor pool is a bit small, but is good for children when it is chilly out. Don't think you ever stayed at a Motel 8 or whatever you want to call it (I thought it was Motel 6 or Super 8) but maybe you should try one before you compare, and why would you have to change your cleaning date? How petty! And, Beachquarters is more like condos, certainly not a motel. Also, you should be glad that you hear the fighter planes, we find them very interesting, they are training our troops who are fighting for you, so please, next time, think before you speak.

We have owned week 27 for 5 years and absolutely love the Beach Quarters. In fact we usually rent our week out and rent a week in August here at the Beach Quarters. It has great amenities, at the quieter end, and plenty of entertainment/activities to keep u busy. I will never go any other place.

I have travel extensively, being in motels to 5 stars hotels. To describe this hotel in simple terms, call it a motel 8 with ocean view.

Have to pay for the safe even if you do not used it! Have to pay $1 for each local call or 800 number. Have to pay for the internet! I was a guess of a timeshare owner. Have to pay a fee of $35 to get the date change for the middle of the week cleaning. The middle of the week house cleaning was on a wednesday? When the check-in is saturday for a 7 nights. House cleaning, very poor. The floor was sticky when we check in. For the middle of the week house cleaning, I gave a tip of $5 even before the lady started to clean, believe it or not, the service was still not there. Wow the timeshare owners are getting rip off big time. The hotel or I would say Motel is located in front of an 15 inches pipe that is used to dump dirty sand on the beach, discusting, in the week we stay they started dumping that stuff (for 3 days) on our third day and the beach was cover with dark wooden pieces, dirt, big sea shells that hurt when you step on them. We just stop going to the beach and used the swimming pool (which actual looks like a bathtub) of the hotel. And the nosie of the fighter aircraft... HEADACHE...on and on day and night. Yep, the noise all the way in your room. Actually you feel your room shaking. Long time I did not stay at motel 8, bet you that all of the above is free at Motel 8. Comments above from Bobr27 and thersac67...bet you that they are working at beach resort...all lies believe me or they must be blind and have hearing problems...didn't hear the sounds of the fighter planes, cannot they comments on the old furnitures, rugs, appliances ...

We have owned a 2 bedroom lock-out here for 20 years. We love it and haven't missed a year. Our children are now 17 & 20 yrs old and have said that no matter what happens or where they are, they will always be with us at the BeachQuarters every summer. We travel a lot and this is the best set-up for us. All rooms are ocean front at the southern end of the beach near Rudees Inlet--the perfect location. Some of the best restaurants at the beach are located within walking distance or you can hop on your bike and head south up over Rudee Inlet for the water and go-cart park, marine science museum, Red Wing Park, lots of plazas, and shops. BeachQuarters has a roof-top tennis court and shuffle board--we play everyday. The roof-top pool is very nice and a quick lunch, beer, or smoothie at the SandBar poolside snack bar is very convenient. It has an indoor pool and 2 hot-tubs. The exercise room is well equipped, but we choose to play tennis, golf, ride our bikes, jog on the beach, our son fishes the inlet and Sandbridge, and our daughter & her friends shop all up and down Atlantic Avenue. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It is always immaculate and they have refurbished our unit twice since we purchased--now we have a dishwasher too! No washer/dryer in the unit, but I will give that up to sit on the balcony & watch the sunrise and dolphins in the morning while enjoying my first coffee and relaxing in the evening with a gin and tonic while watching the fireworks over the ocean To sum it up, this place is swell--and has only been getting better every year.

(2007) Hello All, exterior changes have happened,Interior upgrades have added items that are now more inline with what is expected from a resort for guest services. As always Virginia beach is still a blast for the kids.

(2005) The resort is on the small but clean and tidy side,The resort is quick to respond to problems.Parking is hard at times,But park and use the trolley pass and you never have to drive. The resort could use Guest areas for internet access, reading, resting is one main thing that could put the resort as 5 star for "Va".Has every thing you need from shopping to bike riding as a family,Very relaxed and the pool at the sister resort(Turtle Cay)across the street was well enjoyed by the kids as "super" kid friendly and landscaped to be adult enjoyable. Va Beach has become what Md. had to offer 20yrs ago for the family. The beach is itself the Most desirable for activites and size that are hard too find anywhere in the USA.My family plans to return for many yrs to come because of the family feel and comfort and safty the area has to offer and clean surroundings you can enjoy. To be mid jun as for weather it was the recharge of the body that was needed even with 3 kids to handle.Va beach I give it 9 on a scale of 10. We will be back after skipping it for 15yrs.

All the timeshare units have an oceanfront balcony with a beautiful view of the ocean. The unit for 2 was clean and small, but we had all the amenities which included a king- size bed, large Jacuzzi Tub, mini-kitchen. We enjoyed the resort weekly activiites and especially the Welcome Party - Luai Style on the rooftop pool/outdoor bar (Free food, beverages and live music) overlooking the ocean. The resort staff was very friendly.

This resort has the most amenities that I have seen at Virginia Beach (tennis court, shuffle board, outdoor pool, indoor heated pool, kiddie pool, 2 hot tubs, spa, exercise facilities with a view of the ocean, etc.).
