Sobhengu
Hluhluwe, South Africa, Africa
Surrounded by 35,000 hectares of wetlands and over 100,000 hactares of game reserves, Sobhengu Lodge is a nature lovers treasure-trove. Adjoining the northern unspoilt wilderness area of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, this upmarket eco-timeshare and co-ownership development is set right in the heart of South Africa's premier birding, big game, scuba diving and fishing destination.
Sobhengu Lodge is so remote that you can only get there by boat or 4x4. Sobhengu Lodge has its own 10 seater boat that will collect you from the jetty at False Bay Park, where secure undercover parking is available to guests. A seven kilometre boat ride takes you through Hell's Gate and away from the shadow of civilisation to a secluded sand forest refuge overlooking the fish rich waters of Lake St Lucia.
Surrounded by water on three sides, Sobhengu offers excellent opportunities for landing Grunter, Bream and Salmon (kob). Those who prefer to indulge in the more refined art of salt water fly fishing can cast for Springer. Moorings are available for those who would like to bring their own boats.
