One of our favorite locations to visit, especially for spring break. Nice in mid September to early October timeframe when the weather continues to be nice as well.

We stayed at this resort in April 2019. The grounds where immaculate with beautiful mountain and golf course views. We played a round of golf and enjoyed it immensely. The staff was friendly and accommodating everywhere we went, specifically the golf course and the grill. The furniture in our unit was a little dated, but in no way did it distract from our stay. We've stayed at several Marriott's, and this is now one of our favorites. We can't wait to go back.

Very beautiful place, really enjoyed the week with our children. Their service is A+. Thank you. I just wish they would remodel kitchen and bathroom otherwise just amazing place with lots to do.

We stayed at this resort in September 2018, absolutely wonderful!! The staff couldn't have been more polite, the grounds where immaculate, the room was awesome with beautiful mountain views and golf. We went with another couple, met lots of new people at the pool and just had a wonderful time!! Can't wait to go back!!

Rented a week stay on Redweek. Did a little homework first, and should of listened to what I read about this resort... In May 2017, this resort had 4 people (2 children) shocked in their pool - due to an electrical shortage. In July 2017, the same resort had 13 people (9 children & 4 adults) admitted to the hospital after having trouble breathing -- a chemical vapor was coming from the pools filtration system...a Hazmat team had to be called in to investigate...

I had the owner of this week have the reservation put into my name. I was emailed the change. Called 1 day before arrival to verify everything was good for our arrival the next day also. The next day, waited over an hour and 15 minutes to check in - with the front desk saying someone already checked into our room, and they couldn't figure out how or why? Has any of you ever waited 75 minutes to check in before? - and then tell you they still don't have an answer for you, but they will let us stay the night anyway (1 night only) - until they can call Marriott Owner Services the next day to check on everything. The next day, the manager called me 2 hours later than she had told me she was going to, and then told me that Owner Services was still closed (it was a Sunday), and that I could now pay for another night (in a completely different room) - if I wanted to stay for an answer from Marriott Owner Services the next morning... I packed up my family, and made another reservation down the street, and left this resort as fast as we could. I HONESTLY do believe this resort could be managed better by trained monkeys... The double management team of Dan and Diane were the worst at their jobs. I own my own business, and would of never treated my customers the way I was treated by them...they were totally lost - and I'm sure they still are - even after talking to Marriott Owner Services. A customer like myself should of NEVER been put "on hold" like they did to me - and to tell me that the only possible answer to any problem was "owner services" & that no one else in the whole Marriott system could make a small decision like this one - was completely ridiculous. I will never visit this resort again, and I don't recommend anyone else either!!! What a nightmare this place was!!!!!

Activity center is bustling! Large pool area is well spaced with baby pool, kids on the slide at far end from mainly adults and the bar at the other end. A mostly adult-ish pool on the other side of the snack bar. Down the street is the quiet adult-only pool.

Our family of 7 stayed at the Marriott Shadow Ridge from July 11-18, 2015. We stayed in a 2-bedroom (building 1800). This was probably our 6th or 7th trip here. I have reviewed the resort in the past, but it has been a few years since our last stay, so I will mostly focus on the changes I noticed during this trip. The units themselves now have a DVD player in each room of the 2 bedroom (3 total). They also have newer washer/dryers in them and some new décor (curtains, wall hangings, new dining room table). Our unit was in need of new tile in the kitchen and entryway. We had about 15 cracked tiles. They have changed the towel policy for the pool. It used to be one could trade in their dirty towels at the towel hut at the pool and get fresh ones. Now, you are allotted several towels at the beginning of your stay and are expected to keep the same ones throughout. Getting new towels is a $10.00 charge. The change wasn’t a big deal, and I imagine is probably saving Marriott tons of money. There is no mid-week cleaning, which they stopped about five years ago. They no longer deliver the USA Today newspaper to the door Monday through Friday. It is available at the front desk, the Mirage, and the Enclaves pool, so someone has to go get it. The Enclaves section at the resort appears to be done with construction. They have added a small miniature golf course at the Enclaves, which we enjoyed. The fitness center at the Enclaves is now double the size it used to be. They have beautiful new nautilus equipment, including a cable/pull up machine. With the new equipment, this fitness center is actually better than the bigger one near the front check-in building. The Mirage (children’s center in the middle of the resort), was mostly the same, with lots of activities for the kids. The only change was they took out the rock climbing wall on the outside, which was a disappointment. Overall, we had a great stay and would highly recommend this resort to families. We twice went to the Children’s Museum in nearby Rancho Mirage (5 min away), to get out of the heat and my kids enjoyed their time there immensely. It was too hot to go to the zoo (about 105 degrees every day). Some things Marriott could improve on: Provide a vacuum cleaner in the room so we can get the crumbs out of the carpet. The manual sweeper just doesn’t do the trick. Have someone police the pool area to clean up empty cups, food, and other trash that seems to accumulate throughout the day. Provide more misters and shaded area around the pool in the summer. Some of the BBQ’s did not work, and were lacking utensils. Put blowers at the door of the Mirage to keep the flies out. Also, provide a fly swatter in the room. Other than that, we had a memorable family vacation, and look forward to returning again.

My husband and I have been staying at Marriott Shadow Ridge twice a year since 2011. We just love the resort, the dry weather, its location, amenities and the friendly staff. We own multiple Marriott timeshare weeks and can travel 8 weeks a year to various Marriott resorts (with the perks of owning Destination Points.) The rooms at the Villas are not very large but are comfortable and nicely decorated with all the comforts of home. The views of the mountains and golf course are just breathtaking. This resort is a fun, enjoyable home away from our east coast home and is amongst one of our very favorite vacation spots in California (along with Newport Coast Villas which we own).

We have been going to the Marriott Shadow Ridge as a family for over 10 years. We love it. Great location, more newer than some of the other resorts in Palm Desert, great kids center, nice pools, poolbar w/food, great Faldo course and restaurant. Plus, all the fitness you need in their fitness center. We own 3 weeks at the Marriott in Shadow Ridge and love when we get to use them.

Wonderful vacation. If you find something wrong the management will take care of it asap. Speak up! We strongly encouraged them to continue upgrading the rooms. Palm Desert is fabulous with dozens of great golf courses, restaurants, etc. You'll need a car to get around town. There is shuttle service but not sure about the route.

Stayed for a week on a sub-let with a great view of the 12th fairway and green.

Friendly staff, Faldo's was a great bar and grill, wonderful and challenging golf course well located in the Palm Springs area. I very much appreciated the covered parking adjacent to the buildings which helped to keep the vehicle cool while parked. I would stay again at this complex, but unfortunately, would never purchase in this complex.

The builders seem not to have heard of sound proofing between the units, and at one point I could hear conversations going on in three separate units, and one unit has someone strumming a guitar most of the waking hours. Fortunately, I was gone most of the day and didn't have to listen to hours and hours of this.

I noted that some of the buildings were having furniture and fixtures replaced, and would suggest that they make some effort to add sound proofing to the buildings.

Otherwise, a good vacation.

Disappointing. I guess we weighed too much on the name (marriott), and the price ($400.00 for 4 days). The room was not tidy at all. The untidy events wasn't discovered until the next morning. Day 1 we found an old brush at the foot of the bed underneath the comforter. Then that morning we went to take our shower and my husband noticed an old dried up towel hanging on the shower curtain. He knew I hadnt been in the shower so he asked me just to be sure. YUCK!!! did the housekeeper even go behind herself or himself to double check the room after they supposively cleaned the room. I would think not because plan as day you saw that towel. To make matters worse sheets not fitting properly ( not a major issued I know but with all these events happening kinda make you worry) top to off. The comforter had dried blood splash. AND... then we put our clothes in the wash go back after 25 minutes - they are just sitting never went through the wash. Where is the repair man?? PROS: great location, great front office staff, great fitness center, great activities on property, very nice pools. Don't think we'll be coming back again. But I hope you enjoy your staff. Its probably just one of those instances that we just got a bad piece of the apple.

I stayed in a 2 Bedroom unit on the 17th hole of the golf course. It was an end unit, and basically everything was nice about the resort. We stayed 4th of July week. I would stay again when in Palm Desert. The 2 bedroom unit includes the lock off unit, so the second bedroom, is an efficiency in itself. 2 full bathrooms in the 2 bedrooms, which is nice. Enough room to be comfortable for a weeks stay!

There a few pools, we used the main one's in the front, some times a little crowed but was satified, got there early in the morning to secure a cabana for the day, as they are on a first come basis! Well maintained resort and parking at our building had some carports to park under so it kept the car out of the hot sun. Staff at check in was very nice and helpful. We never had a need to contact them all week, as we had no problems.

15 minutes from downtown Palm Springs, however, there are a lot of stores and restaurants in the immediate area. We look forward to staying again

Loved it! Plenty of room for the 5 of us in a 2 bed unit. Nicely decorated, comfortable beds, great balconies, terrific kitchen, and laundry in unit. BBQ's near unit. Very well kept overall. Beautiful grounds-others raved about the golfing (we don't golf.) The best pools and a fabulous water slide that kept my kids busy for hours. Friendly staff that helped plan out days. Can't wait to go back.

Just got back from 4th visit to Shadow Ridge. It was absolutely wonderful!! Two adults and one teenage son were all in agreement. We all loved it and can't wait to go back!! We stay in the older villas which are much more spacious than the new ones. The new ones have updated decor but are much more compact than the villages. We spend alot of time enjoying the balconies and the scenery. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. There is always enough to see and do and we always have something to look forward to for next time. Would highly recommend in the winter months.

Just got back from week there that included Labor Day weekend. I was there scouting out to buy. This is not a 5 star resort. It is like a city and you have to drive everywhere. Who builds a resort in the hot desert and does not install ceiling fans in the rooms or on the furnace-like balconies and terraces? Very dopey.

The 2 main pools were so crowded you could not get near them. A quiet pool at the end of the complex was ...quiet. I own Marriott and Hilton tiimeshares so I am a Marriott fan, but the furniture was not comfortable, no flat screen TV and becuase of the cubby-holed alcove design for the TV they would have to reconstruct the area to ever put in flat panels. People were very nice at the resort but service was very spotty. THe AC rattled and even after they sent an engineer to fix it, he left a voice mail saying he didn't find a problem. No toilet paper other than 1 half roll. They finally got us more, after we called, but it took almost 2 hours.

We did not eat at the Faldo restaurant, but it seemed very expensive for a golf course grill. We love Palm Desert and go every year, but the Marriott's are not on our revisit list. The place was just not well designed or maintained for anything more than a 3.5 star rating in my opinion, and from what we learned from others, the Desert Villas is worse. Well, that is my unbiased opinion of the place.

Just completed our third stay in the past 2 years, each in a 1 bedroom unit. Rooms are spacious, clean, nicely decorated, kitchen well furnished, convenient washer dryer, adequate parking, luggage carts, large pools, nice view of golf course and mountains.

Downside we found: A/C too drafty, water slide designed by liability lawyers, pool area could use some visual improvements, after arrival housekeeping rates a C+.

It's always been good but just a little short of great. This time the fridge didn't work right, last time we had a bad odor and found a dead rat in the fireplace.

But we would go back for a reasonable price, experience telling us to expect an enjoyable but less than perfect resort.
