I know many people would give this resort five
stars, and under different circumstances, I would
too. Here is what I found. If you are going to
Atlantis during off season, it might be more
economical to stay in a hotel room than to stay
at Harborside. The reason my family uses
timeshares is so that we can have the comforts of
home while we are away from home. We cook, do our
own laundry, surf the web, and watch TV along with
experiencing a new place.
I found that I was scared to drive on the island
because they drive on the opposite side of the
road, this made buying groceries hard. There was
a little grocer near the resort, but it looked
like they had not recieved inventory for months.
We did pick up some cereal and milk for $12, and
although I found the prices high, it really beat
eating out for breakfast every morning at $12 per
person.
Getting off Paradise Island is costly. To get to
Feeport by boat is $6. Do that for a family of 4
for 2 days and we're talking about $48, and you
haven't even bought anything yet. You can take a
bus for a buck that drops you off at the end of
the bridge to PI, but I don't recommend doing that
with any elder family members. It's a long, hot walk.
The resort itself was the most beautiful resort I
have ever been to. The aquarium at Atlantis us
unbelievable and unbeatable. The water slides
make the place a combination of a luxury resort
and an amusement park. Everyone should go there at
least once in their life if they can.
