Ocean Beach Club is a first class resort for all ages. Unit views are incredible with dolphins and spectavular sunrises. Resort amenities for all ages make it a great family vacation spot!

We have been vacationing here for the last 15 years. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean. Pools are maintained well and the beach is right in front of you. Tortugas also has great food and drinks. My children and grandchildren love it!!! Daily activities, some are free and some for a nominal fee.

Well-kept and reputable unit for price in current climate. Not too far or too close for whatever floats your boat...or not. Enjoyable for sure!

This resort is in a great location, right on the beach with reserved parking right across the street. It is in the northern end which is less crowded and less busy. This unit has expansive views of the beach and the ocean where dolphins regularly can be seen swimming up and down the coast. The staff are friendly and helpful even though at times very busy. This resort is kept very clean and tidy and is a very good choice for families.

This is a wonderful resort! We've owned this week from before it was built and have enjoyed our week every time! Everyone is so nice and so helpful. It's a fantastic time on the year to go! Great weather - not crowded on beach, pools or restaurants! WE LOVE IT!!!

This is probably the best resort on the oceanfront. Parking garage is spacious, convenient and includes bike racks. Resort has everything you could ask for and has several indoor/outdoor pools plus a gym with oceanview . Usage includes the sister resort next door (Oceanaire ) which has a rooftop sun deck. There are even daily activities for both children and adults. Close to upscale shopping and restaurants. A+

I’m just finishing up a week stay here at Ocean Beach Club. The check-in could not have been easier, the checkout was a breeze. I’m not sure where all the other bad reviews are coming from, but MY stay was fantastic. I had a one bedroom, full kitchen, & a sleeper sofa. The place was CLEAN, the staff was friendly & ALL had on masks. There was a broom and dust pan in the closet, along with linen for the pull out sofa. I know a lot of people are expecting daily cleaning service, but as many times as I have stayed at timeshares, there’s never been a daily cleaning service. Earlier this summer I stayed at a hotel, and there was no cleaning daily due to COVID.

Just to provide some context, my review of Ocean Beach Club is based on their Interval International rating of a Premier resort. So, I’m comparing my recent experience at Ocean Beach Club with previous experiences at resorts like Marriott and Westgate.

My wife and I booked a one-bedroom condo for a week at Ocean Beach Club, in Virginia Beach, VA, through Interval International. We had last stayed at the resort in May, 2010 and had also stayed at the Villas at the Boardwalk (Virginia Beach, VA), which is owned by the same company, several times. My wife doesn’t take elevators, so I called in late July to request a room on the lowest possible floor. I spoke with Shanice and she noted my request. I called again, about one week prior to our visit, to make sure that the request was still noted and I was assured by Mr. Robinson that it was. I also requested an oceanfront or oceanview room, if possible, but that wasn’t guaranteed since we traded in through Interval International.

Positives

Check-In We arrived at about 5:15 PM on a Saturday and I walked right up to the counter, with no wait. There was a problem with the credit card machine, to cover incidentals, but I just came down the next morning and it was working.

View We had an oceanfront suite on the 4th floor with a view of the boardwalk, pool and Atlantic Avenue. Thanks to Shanice and Mr. Robinson for taking care of our requests.

Location Ocean Beach Club is located in 34th Street and Atlantic on the north end of Virginia Beach. It is located near some really good restaurants like Tortugas, Pocahontas Pancake House, North End Pizza, and Lager Heads. Starbucks and Duck Donuts are also not far away at 31st Street.

Pool Ocean Beach Club has a great indoor/outdoor pool that faces the boardwalk/ocean which is a nice touch.

Negatives

WiFi During most of the week, the WiFi was very bad and it didn’t exist at all on the balcony. I’ve been accustomed to great WiFi at Marriott resorts, so this was an issue.

Room The room had a great view, but it showed several signs of wear and tear, including the carpet, furniture and kitchen cabinets. Also, there was dirt on the doors and dust and cobwebs throughout the room.

Services The rooms don’t have a washer/dryer, but they are provided on the even number floors. There is also a weekly towel exchange, but it isn’t advertised. We only remembered it from when we visited in 2010. We also weren’t aware of any activities that typical at these types of resorts. Finally, due to the location, parking is available in the parking deck across the street from the resort for $10/day.

Overall, we had a good experience at Ocean Beach Club and the Virginia Beach oceanfront for the week. The staff was also very pleasant and helpful. The bottom line, though, is that a lot of work needs to be done in order to get Ocean Beach Club back up to par with other resorts in the Premier category.

Just got back from Ocean Beach Club. Very disappointed. The main out door pool was closed for the majority of my stay. The kiddie pool was closed for a time as well. The staff did not offer any compensation, like a meal at their own restaurant, which would've been a nice gesture, since it was a huge disappointment to my 4 children. Room was super small and not for 6 people as stated. Not very clean and many finishes out of date or broken. Vending machines and bathrooms out of order. Very frustrating. We actually left a day early because we were fed up.

My husband and I stayed over the Christmas holiday weekend and it was beautiful. The festivities as well as the scenery was beautiful. We have gone to VA beach quite often and it is wonderful. We upgraded from beach quarters to Ocean View and we had no problems in upgrading. The rooms are large and sleeps 4. The kitchen was nice. We didn't worry about towels or anything like that because we had our own. I don't like use towels from the hotels or resorts anyway. In my home, I change my towels no more than twice a week so that is not a big deal for me. When you call the front desk for anything, they were always accommodating. The walk on the beach and on Atlantic Avenue was beautiful. The restaurants were clean and the food was delicious. They had from cheat to high end and the atmosphere was wonderful. I love the view of the beach and there was a balcony from the bedroom where you can step out and sit on the balcony. It was a wonderful experience.

The earlier reviews are mistaken. The barclay towers or beach quarters is not equal to or above ocean beach club. I have stayed at all three over the years. OBC is in another class above them.

Nice units but small. Oceanfront and corner units have nice views. However, if you don't get an ocean view unit, you overlook Atlantic Avenue--no good view. Be prepared to pay for parking ($7.00/day), safe ($1.00/day), internet access ($29.95/week). Towel exchange once during week and they count EVERYTHING. They were reluctant to even provide another trash bag (only one was provided for the week). Great location on beach and looks like a boutique hotel. Checkin was a little hectic, but otherwise staff was very accommodating. Don't plan on easy upgrade. We exchanged our Marriott Hilton Head unit. We did get an ocean view, but the desk clerk said she was surprised. Date of visit: Mar 21-28, 2010

This is a beautiful building- definately one of the nicest and newest on VA Beach, and it's the nicest Interval Resort we've stayed at. The building has changed a lot in the past 2 years, as a new wing, new indoor pool, and gym have been added. The older (3 years old) half of the building has private balconies, while the newer half (north side) has some balconies that look into other units' bedrooms- definately a weird feature, but the units themselves are a little bigger so I guess it evens out. The location is right on the beach and can't be beat.
