If this resort didn't already check 5 stars in every category, the million dollar renovation just recently completed only adds to the top of the line resort style stay!

Carlsbad Inn is a wonderful family friendly resort with great access to the beach, Legoland and San Diego with many wonderful restaurants and shopping!

We have vacationed at Carlsbad Inn Beach resort for more than 30 years. Beach is great with available sand toys, boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas. New pool is fabulous. New adult spa is very nice. Restaurants 100 feet from resort. Disneyland, Seaworld, Legoland, Theme parks within a short to medium drive.

Fun resort in the heart of this small village of Carlsbad with convenient access to the beach, restaurants and shops. Park and never move your car. My kids LOVE this place and want to come back every year.

Absolutely the best resort on the California coast. It's old school. There's a huge courtyard for the kids to play in and for the adults to relax and enjoy. Live music, jacuzzi's, activities, awesome pool and the beach is right there. For the money - Carlsbad Inn can't be beat.

I love this resort. It is beautiful and the location is ideal. It's located in the heart of the Carlsbad's village, a block from the boardwalk, and steps from the beach. There are restaurants all over at walking distance. I live 45 minutes away and go every year for 2 weeks to enjoy the view and location. I walk all over and sometimes get in my car to go to the nearby beach towns. Its a big 5 star stay every year.

Carlsbad Inn has everything that you want in a vacation place....ideal location with a wide variety of restaurants and shops nearby, the Coaster is just a couple of blocks away....and best of all, the beach is just across the street and down the steps with free use of boogie boards, umbrellas, beach toys, for anyone staying at Carlsbad Inn. The large courtyard is relaxing and has lots of tables with umbrellas and chairs, lounge chairs available, and a great renovated fenced pool. We have been coming here for more than a decade, but always find new adventures to explore. Relaxing to walk along the sidewalk with a wonderful view of the beach and ocean below....or you can easily walk down and enjoy the paved path at the bottom of the hill for a closer view of everything..... And of course relaxing and doing nothing is also an option.

Incredible location with so many places to walk or go. Hop on the Coaster to Old Town or go north to San Juan. Super fun day trip. Or just hang on the beach, enjoy all the fantastic restaurants surrounding the resort and relax in the newly remodeled pool or jacuzzi day or night.

We have been using our resort unit since the Carlsbad Inn opened. It is very family friendly and the units have been nicely renovated. The convenience of having the beach just down the stairs is wonderful. The complimentary beach equipment cabana is very convenient. Being able to walk to so many great restaurants in the town is wonderful. The ambiance and service adds to appeal of this great resort.

Have spent several one week visits in the month of February and my little oasis... Activities are the best... Entertainment too... Facilities, fantastic and the people you meet all came to have a good time... New friends comes easy. Staff is delightful.

We have been going to the Carlsbad inn beach resort for 30 years. The resort is in a perfect location. The pool and grass area are so much fun for the grandkids along with the activities provided. The beach is across the street but a cabana on the beach allows you to check out chairs,toys,umbrellas and boogie boards.

Pro's: Perfect location and beach access! Great restaurants, views, lawn, entertainment, adult hot tub, comfortable beds, clean rooms, good staff responsiveness, nice beach supplies (on the beach). Con's: TOO MANY PEOPLE AT THE POOL. We didn't even use it after a couple days because it was so packed and my son got sick (I suspect drinking pool water). Also their beach towel setup is very inconvenient.

Practically on the beach. Walking distance to EVERYTHING in the quaint town of Carlsbad. Long boardwalk to enjoy for morning and evening walks. Great family resort atmosphere but also comfortable for retirees. We love this place and are so happy we own 2 weeks...we look forward to going every summer!

Great resort. Really enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly and professional. Shops, restaurants, and the beach are all within walking distance. Sure will return again.

I would give it a 4.5 on the rating scale. The condos were clean and well equipped with everything a family would need. They were decorated nicely, nothing was dated or old or dirty. The staff was friendly and extremely accomodating. The location couldn't be more perfect. Right in the heart of Carlsbad. Within walking distance to restaurants and shops. The beach is right behind the resort and the resort gives you all the beach "toys" you need (umbrella, chairs, toys, etc.). The grounds are well kept and very pretty.

The pool area was a little small but everyone goes to the beach so it was no big deal. I would go back and we have stayed at 5 star resorts and spas. Good time.

This is the most relaxing place, swim in the pool, hot tub, listen to music in the court yard, walk the beach, ride the free bikes, play ping pong, eat at all the great resturants within walking distance, clean and new furniture in the condos, entertainment each night. Just love love love and San Diego attractions all close. Perfect place!

We are just completing a one week exchange here and have had some mixed feelings about it. While it is considered "Gold Crown" by RCI, it is rated three stars overall as a resort. One big inconvenience is that there is no high speed internet access in the condos, only in the hotel rooms (which are located in the main building), hence a slew of us are now in the lobby great room using our laptops to access the Wi-Fi! Not a big deal to those who truly leave their computer needs behind while on vacation but we love using it to find the nearest Outback or Mapquest, so it has proven to be a hassle.

Also, if you exchange into a two bedroom condo like we did (and there are only two of us but we enjoy having two bathrooms and having the extra room in case friends want to join us), there are only 8 on the property and all of them are located right next to the pool area, a very distant shot from the ocean view which we were disappointed in. If the view is important to you, opt for a one bedroom and ask at check in if you can score a third floor unit. Right now, we are in a second floor unit and listening to the pounding feet and yelling of the family above us - not ideal but we aren't there a lot so it isn't the biggest downfall we could experience.

The Pacific Ocean is right across the street and awesome to behold, especially with all the surfers doing their thing. The amazing sunsets are just that and, it being December, they occur right around 4:30 p.m. so I was ready with my camera and got some great shots. The town is very quaint and friendly with a great on-site breakfast/lunch place called The Daily News which has become our favorite little hangout.

All in all, a good vacation spot with some minor drawbacks but for any ocean lover, it is an ideal place to be, and only 35 miles from San Diego's airport and attractions. Enjoy!
